Hi Otto,

I am interested in how the RCV engines would hold up to 3d type flying (high diameter/low pitch props with lots of throttle transitions). I have purchased a Great Planes UCD3d, and was wondering if the .60 would hold up to 3d flying. Also, what size/pitch props would you recommend? Typical weight on these planes (with a .91 or .100 four strokers) are averaging 7- 7 1/2 lbs. Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks,
Steve

WONT WORK
The problem is low pitch props. these engines are intended to run at a relative low RPM, so a low pitch prop will not give any pull at these performance conditions. Also the problem would be cooling, under these conditions, engines have a tendency to run hot because much of your flight is not FORWARD. The only RCV engine intended for this kind of flying is the .58CD in its appropriate airframe installation.

Thank You

Thanks for your honesty Otto. I didnt think it would work, because of the other users turning 3 and 4 blade props on scale planes at higher speeds, getting the cooling.
