Yep, Snoopy is American, so his ride is to!! I do build fast, doesnt mean that I build them well though. It took six weeks to build each of those planes.

A friend of mine says the rule of how good a plane should look is 50/50. It should look good at 50 feet or 50 miles an hour. Mine have bad seams, paint runs, fuzzy edges, etc. I am not a good builder. But they do fly very well indeed.

In further reply to Iron Cross. "OK you guys this has been bothering me for awhile and I have to ask it.. In the real version of these thing how did the pilot fire that top machine gun ?.. As I understand it the gun was designed to be pulled down also so it would shoot straight up ?... Thing is it looks like he would have to almost stand up to operate the thing... This while flying the plane ?... I must be missing something here "
Have a look at these.
Now where did I put that SE5a I started?

Prop, in the aerodrome thread, someone mentioned an Ebay store called Theplace Nashville. Is this someone your familier with? I can't seem to locate them. Where have YOU found good prices on convertable gas engines?

For 25cc engines, I recommend the Poulan Featherlite leafblower. You can get them for around 45.00 from Northern Tool or purchase direct for around 30.00 at the poulan factory store. Thier phone number is 870-845-6614 They charged me 9.00 per unit for shipping. We purchased 10-12 units from them. Several of our club members are still using them as leafblowers, lol.
As for Ebay, do a search for 25cc and see what pops up. I just did and dozens came up, most closing very soon and around 25.00.

Hows China, well if I wanted to breathe stuff like I do here I would not have given up smoking. No but seriousley China is an interesting place to visit a fascinating combination of fifties America and the twenty first Century all wrapped up in 4,000 years of history.
Unfortunatley the missus has become quite ill and we are going to return to Australia, just shows be carefull what you wish for you may get it.
Before any of you flame me I wished I could build and fly not that the wife would get sick.
The Photo from my last post is in fact a pile of rejects at a model factory in Vietnam, I visited there last year.
Here is a more detailed photo of a foster mount, this one is on a pup or Niuport but is almost identical to the SE5a mount for the non geared wolsley engine. IE it does not have the high stand offs required for the Geared engine.
As to color why not red, see the profile for an SE5a flown by an Australian SGT at flight training school in England. This caused rumor and excitement at the time. Word got around that the Austrlians had captured the Red Barons Fighter and were testing it. In fact all the teaching pilots at the fighter school paited their plains as brightley as posible so the students would see them and not crash into them as a result. Tru story!
Ucktung lieber Red Sargent!

Yes it has gone very quite. Nothing since I left China! I have a new Se5a kit and will be doing all the mods to this one. The modified plans are almost finished but life and other models keep getting in the way. I intend to post progress photoes and how I went about the mods as I go. The project keeps slipping back due to life and other members of my club terminating their models with extreem Predigest, I fix broken glo engines for club members and they are keeping me busy.
Remember , land before you run out of fuel or you could be stuck up there all day!?
