Where are you guys putting your CG? I have just finished building my 35% Edge and the recommended CG appears to be 5-1/2 inches back from the leading edge at the root. My Edge is balancing just slightly tail heavy there. When hoisted, for example, it looks like if it were landing, it would almost be making a three-point landing. Is this too tail heavy?

Did you make sure the plane was level when you picked it up? That's important to do because you don't want it to start off with the tail down. Mine is at 5.5" and it requires little if any down elevator when inverted, and that is the way I like it.

I made a CG jig and then hoisted it off the floor where she sat. The attitude once hoisted was the same as when she was sitting on her gear.

That might be like a prop that won't move because it is balanced. Put some books or something under the tailwheel and then lift it up while it is level, and if it stays that way it is balanced. I only know this because mine did the same and I asked Dennis what to do and he told me the plane needs to start off level and then you need to see which side (if any) dips down. Let us know how it flys and lets see some pics!

Thanks for the compliment. I really enjoyed building this kit. Easily one of the best quality kits I have ever built. Looking forward to the maiden. All that is left for me to do is the servo programming and linkages. I'll keep you all posted on the maiden.

Gentlemen,
Since my last posting here, I have had about a dozen flawless flights with my Edge. Being that it is my first Carden, I now know what all the rave has been about. All the 3-D capabilities aside for a moment, this plane LITERALLY is easier and gentler to fly than any other plane I have ever flown, including my first trainers! As far as the fancy stuff goes, I can add no additional superlatives to those which have already been expressed over the years. Simply outstanding.

Finally, I just got my new Mejzlick 28x10 prop yesterday and look forward to trying it out. The DA 100 is now broken in. The 27x10 worked very well and I hope the 28 incher will be even better.

Also, thanks for all the "props" on the looks of my Edge. She is always a head-turner at the field.
