So that's the Corsair motor mount?

All I have done to mine is mount the Himax inrunnner just because someone gave me one.
I've been sort of procrastinating on my Little Edge thinking I might crash one of the other planes as I would like to switch to Spectrum someday soon and really don't want to buy more 72 mHz Rx's.

Love the colors of that plane..

That's the mount that screws into the plastic piece that's glued to the firewall on the Corsair.
I like the colors also something different. I did a plane like this about 5 years ago. Same colors as my HD Wideglide that came with custom paint from the factory.

Looks like I'll be swapping motors to my original Rimfire 35 30 1450. I put that in the Riot bipe I have sitting here. I checked the watts and amps and iit putting out 298 watts pulling 30.6 amps using an APC 9x6 prop. I also checked the Parkzone 480 motor. What a turd. I was only getting 159 watts pulling 16 amps using the stock Corsair 9.5x7.5 prop. Since I'm new to electrics, would changing the prop help bring up the watt output? What about the timing on the speed control? It's set to a high flight time setting and not high power. The instructions say you can change the timing. Is worth the time? I tried to put on the APC but the shaft is way bigger on the PZ 480. You'd think the PZ would have more grunt being it's twice as big as the Rimfire, but it has half the power.

Went out and maiden the plane today. Flies nice. Looks great in the air. Never did change the motor and don't know if I will. It's not a 3D machine anyway and it's a real nice sport flier. 8.5 minutes worth of flight time on the 11.1, 1800 pack. Next flight was with a 2100 and I forgot to set the timer. I did add a 10% Up Elevator mix when using the rudder. Nice and flat turns now. I'm also a little nose heavy. That prop nut weighs a little over an ounce and I'll try just a nut. I think that I'll add a little red to the bottom. Maybe stripes of squares. Looks great in the air.

Sounds good..
A friend flew his the other day and it looked so nice that I now have the bug to get mine together. I haven't crashed anything this week so I guess I have to order new electronics for it.

Went out and got another 6 minute flight in. Had to quit as my fingers were freezing. Wind was too much for them. Plane flies great, wish I could have burned a couple of packs.

I'm getting close to a maiden flight, maybe tomorrow AM if the weather co-ops. I did switch from the Himax inrunner to a little smaller outrunner as the Himax had a bent shaft. I'll wait to see how it goes before I start cutting battery access hatches in it..
Wish me luck...

The maiden went very well. I only have one 3s battery that I could fit in the nose without cutting on the Little one but I flew it 10 min. before bringing it down and then it wasn't out of volts yet. Flies nice, looks great. I had more than enough power for loops.
Turnigy 2826 1350KV, 8x4 APC, 1300mAh.

Now to cut that belly hatch to have better battery access.

I've gotten in three more flights and can see it's going to be a sweet plane. I cut a belly hatch from the fire wall to the landing gear support including the lower portion of the first former and can now fit just about any battery I want in there. If there is a problem, it is keeping the battery secured from rattling around in there.

I have a feeling that someday I may want to add more power than I now have.

I just cut some foam that will fit the battery. I cut one that goes just behind the former that is aft of the landing gear. This piece sits right where the leading edge of the wing is. It is a square piece that has a square hole cut in the center for the rear part of the battery pack. When sliding the pack in, it goes through the former and into the foam, support the afte end. Up front is the same thing, cut in half. The front of the battery lays in that. I just use another piece of foam over top of that to hole the pack in place. I left about a 1/4" of the fuse bottom on each side and they hold the foam in place. I've done quite a few full throttle snaps and things trying to knock it loose with no success.

Now several flights on my Little Extra, the ROG were OK off a paved runway but I ran into problems when I went to red clay (baseball diamond) or short grass. The 28/26 Outrunner didn't have enough poop (134 Watts) to be reliable with a 8x4 prop. Switched to a 9x5 (204 Watts) prop and it seems just about right with near vertical climbs and faster ROGs. I'm going to like this plane.

Just flew a couple of flights. I first put some stripes on the bottom. I used Ultracote trim, True Red is the color. I still want to move the CG back some. Might have to add a little tail weight. I can't get the battery back any further.

Hi,
The stripes are a good idea as the symmetrical scheme makes orientation difficult at times. I lost mine, hit a pole head on and basically broke the fuse in half behind the canopy thus the recover job on most of the fuse. The stringers in the turtle deck are not that strong. I have been flying mine a bunch since then and it is still a real nice flier. It's easy to underhand launch with just a toss.
Good luck..

I think that I'm going to go with an 8" prop. I smacked the 9" one off the country road that I was flying off of. The breeze quit on me 3 feet off the runway and she just fell. I didn't even know the tips were hurt until I got home.

I'm using a Master Airscrew 9050 (200 Watts) basically a glow prop but very tough. The E8040 (160 Watts) I started with didn't quite have the zip to get off the ground in a hurry.

I've been reading this thread and now think I will convert mine to elcetric. I have a 35-30-950 rimfire. Do you think that will fly it okay?

I'm flying mine with a smaller 2826 1350kv 9X5 Airscrew, static power is 205W. This is very adequate and lets me underhand launch it. Your larger motor should be even better with a little larger prop. My motor mount has evolved into a stronger one than I started with. I'll see if I can get a pic up in the near future.
This is my best flying plane in the wind. I recently bought a spare Little Extra as it is rumored to be discontinued in the future.

Good luck should you decide to do it.

Some pics if you are still thinking of going green.
I used an outrunner rather than the recommended inrunner to keep from bending shafts. At first I glued the motor mount but it was knocked loose, the thru bolts seem to work well. A battery compartment was cut and most of the first former was removed as well as adding a foam cradle for the battery. Not real pretty but works well.
