5800 refers to the Novak Super Sport Plus system which comes with the SS5800 Brushless motor. The SS5800 is an 8.5 turn motor and has performance comparable to a 12-turn brushed motor.

Any of the Super Sport or GTB/Velociti systems will work well in a stadium truck. The high-voltage system and the crawler systems are not suited for an ST.

Ignorant?..NOT A CHANCE!!! We all need help sometimes. Also I am told that Novak is about to drop a 3.5 brushless system.. I couldn't imagine having that much power in a 2wheel drive truck.. The 5.5 is really meant for on-road touring cars but hell if it will bolt up why not? If you do use the 5.5 , invest DEEPLY in tires

raven / jason - thanks very much for the quick replies again. to be honest, i am toying with the idea of getting the brushless system for my xxx-t mainly because of the fact that a brushless motor almost does not require maintenance (replacing brushes, cutting comm, etc), and also the added benefit of longer run times plus the incredible speed.

i use lots of brushless motors, escs and lipos on my planes, and would also like to get one for my car as well due to the advantages it has, plus, i'm seeing that I can use some of my lipos for the brushless system for the xxxt, which would really save me from buying more batteries.

thank you for the info on the 5.5 and 5800. i mostly run on pavement just for fun, so it looks like i'll be getting a 5800 system, if i don't want to be replacing tires every 5 batt packs spent

If you are just going to run on pavement the the 5.5 will be awesome but hard to control offroad especially on a track. The 5800SS is a good combo with this truck and works well on the track too. The biggest thing is lack of grip offroad with the higher power brushless systems using a 2wd.

jason - sure will do ! hehe

btw, are you guys familiar where I can buy online, upgrade parts for my xxxt? I can't seem to find aluminum critical parts (meaning a-arms, shock towers, etc) for it. All i see are CVDs, lunsford buckles, some rpm balls and gearcover, but nothing really except for the losi graphite parts.

i like graphite because it's light, but i'm leaning towards the durability of aluminum...any help?

As for a-arms I would just go with the OEM plastic ones.. they are cheap and dont snap as easy as graphite. I know Trinity makes a front and rear aluminum pivot block. That will tighten your a-arms up big time! www.losipartshouse.com has pretty good deals and all they deal in is losi stuff. I machined a battery bar out of aluminum for my truck. BEWARE the Matt Francis 2 comes with a diffrent transmission so if you buy a motor plate make sure its not for the MF2. Also the new high strength outdrive diffs are for MF2 transmissions. A graphite rear kick plate would serve you well too. I have broken 2 plastic ones. I am looking for an aluminum one but no luck.
Dynamite makes aluminum shock towers I know I have seen them. I can't remember if your truck is a xxx-t or a xx-t....

Will the graphite battery strap help my battery stay in place? Lately the battery has been falling out on my rtr 2. It is popping out on the back side. Of course it only seems to happen on the big jumps and bad landings.

Other then checking the diff is there any other maintenance that is necessary?
