I asked for everyone to post pics of their Jatos and one person posted 2 sets of pics..... Are you guys not proud of your Jatos? Come on, This is the baddest R/C ever made Show those Pics!!!! I think I am going to try to find the Chevy Silverado Truck Body, I saw one on a different site and it looked good on the Jato... Well, Please post some pics. Thanks! S.D.

I know I use to have a ton of pics in here, but I have changed servers since then. Here are some photos of my jatos... these are the only ones I have taken the time to load up on flickr

Thanks. Had help from a fourm buddy on building it. It works very well. I like having the gas tank pushed further back. I will get some newer photos uploaded soon hopefully. But since everyone always ask about that top plate I put those up on flickr...

would you say the rpm wide bumper is worth buying. Dose it really help protect the turn buckles?

Ive got it. I bought it cause the stock one doesent stick out that far, and i put bigger tires on it. its only flaw is the lack of holes for the sway bar anchor. But i just used a couple tastefully placed zip ties. It feels a TON more rigid. Yes, its worth the ten bucks.

On another note, an exhaust note. Im getting ready to by a tune or tuned pipe for my 3.3. I was thinking either vantage, the traxxas 2 chamber, CVEC or THS. Im looking for more top end than torque. What do you all think? Oh and does anyone know where i can get a red header/exhaust coupler?

The RPM front bumper is great. It can take a lot of abuse. It also has a front skid plade designed in to it. I have found it gives a good bit more protection vs the stock.

I think the Hex is a 12mm. But I could be wrong. Why do you want aluminum? I have never had an issue with the plastic units. But I also run aluminum rims from www.rc-parts.com about 97% of the time...

On the pipe... I run the Traxxas Dual Chamber Resonator with my RB V.12 it really brings the motors to life in the mid to high rpms. I have also tested it with the 2.5 and 3.3 it worked just as good with them. My favorite pipe was one from Novarossi. But that pipe is now out of production... I use it on my basher...
the vantage pipes are killer looking, but I have never tried one.

Yeah they look pretty sweet. There is a video online of a vantage pipe being smashed into another one. Vantage won. Lol.

I Have a stock Jato 3.3 and have run about a gallon through it so far. I have replaced lots of parts due toa crash or two but I was wondering, What are the "must have" upgrade parts. I think I like the plastic A-arms and factory turnbuckles..... But are there any Must Haves that you guys have learned over time?

I would say a arms, bumpers, turnbuckles, upper chassis brace and axles. Stay away from aluminum. It will just transfer the weak link to more major parts. RPM a arms are great because they wont break, they flex and will not stress other parts.

really the only things that have broke on my jato after a couple gallons is 3 front trunbuckles, 3 a-arms (2f, 1R {extras came with the truck so now i will order the rpm for when they break again}], HSN broke got a new carb on ebay for 22 shipped, grinded down rear shock tower post once, stripped the gears in the servo steering (2055), stripped the screw holes that hold the back plate on on the engine block (20 something on ebay), 1 spur gear, stripped out 2 hex nuts for rear wheels and i think 3 pairs of rear road hoags.

Thats all i can think of. Which i don not think is that bad. O and i replaced the drive shafts becuase the blue tape came off and not it is off again (again got it cheap on ebay). So it will stay like that.

Back in the day when I had just gotten a traxxas rustler I thought the same thing... Then a few sets of rims later I went back to plastic. From my experience the aluminum hex will just eat your rims. You may be running the nut too tight ... or too loose...

i bought my jato used and it came with a hump pack and not battery box in the back. How much of a diff is it using the center battery box compared to the rear, wheelie wise?

you will get more wheelies, because of more weight in the back

I keep my batteries in the rear and I do not have a wheelie problem. It is all in your set up. I keep them in the rear because that is what I am use to... I like the extra weight back there to help the transitions in the turns... I would move it to the middle if I was setting up a "street truck" or an oval racer.
