make sure you prime it,

what percentage are you running?

what plug are you running?

take it out and see what it looks like, and if anything is written on the side...( i.e. : os 8, mc-9, etc..)

it will be easier to start if you run a hot plug...

it sounds like you could be running to cold of a plug, or bad fuel

Hiya,

I just got a new jato & today, i went out to the parking lot to fire it up. It started right up & all but it wouldn't move,,,LOL. Almost like the brakes were locked or something. I gave it a couple small throttle jabs but ,alas,no go so i just shut it down. It rolls fine if i push it along, just won't go with motor power. Can anyone help me out on this?

TIA.

ONE MORE PLEA FOR HELP I have a stock jato 3.3 that will start right up on the 1st try but, when it gets warmed up and cuts off "cuz. it flipped upside-down, ran out of gas or i cut it off" then it won't start back up?(well just takes forever 2 start) i think i have a good tune? it will pull the wheels up at almost any speed and when it's warmed up it runs at 260F., and has some smoke. it has been about 60F. where i live. i'm new to rc so any help will be greatly appreciated if you need more info on my set up? just ask THANKS!

HOw old is the engine? THat is signs of a warn out engine. When it heats up the piston and sleeve are expanding and you are losing comprasion. I would say go back to factory settings and try to retune to see if that helps.

There is a few things you can do. I would say take apart the engine and if everything in there looks good and its not all rusted you can do this

http://cgi.ebay.com/Resizing-futaba-ko-airtronics-mugen-ofna-kyosho-losi_W0QQitemZ180227441076QQihZ008QQcategoryZ19167QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

You send them your piston and sleeve and they resize it. The engine will run like new again but will require break in. That is the cheapest method.

Or you could go on ebay and buy a new TRX 3.3 or get a OS .18 or the new .21 one engine.

I forgot to mention this eariler but if a engine shuts off once it heats up it could be vapour lock. Which is caused the the carb getting so hot it burns the fuel up before it reaches the engine. TO fix that you just go back to factory and retune. I see you already went back to factory and your problem did not change. So this is for anyone eles who might ahve a similar problem.

sorry but i read your post again and do the wheels spin is the remote setup correct to open the carb and release the brakes. did you get a manual with it? if not go to www.traxxas.com and download the manual from the support section usually located at the top right hand side of the screen.
