The stock tires are pritty bad on loose dirt. Pick up some lose step pins and front ribs or proline tires.

That looks wicked nice freak. Dang.

Yesterday I did some high speed running and grass running with glads and edges. Boy did this thing rip! And for those people who have driven there's on pavement, Doesn't it handle like a touring car? its such a great feelin'. On the grass it soaked up all the ditches and bumps nicely with those oversized shocks. I can't wait to race thins thing!

here's an updated pic:

-RPM Blue Clawz with Edges and Gladiators
-Futaba 3PM radio
-Venom Receiver pack
-Traxxas tuned pipe
-Traxxas Blue Head
-Pull start

Unbreakable,

That Jato looks fabulous! That's pretty much how I'm planning to set up mine. Those tires you put on it, look great. to me, it gives the truck a better look, than the stock ones. I view the stock tires, simply as a set of "break-in" tires and nothing else. Nothing wrong with that, though.

Have you noticed a difference in performance with the Traxxas tuned blue pipe? What about with the machined head? How has your running temperature changed with it?

Also, which RPM Claws did you use? The ones for the Rustler? Is the offset the same?

After break-in, I'm planning to change the wheels and tires, put on the blue 2.5r machined head, the blue tuned pipe and a pull start. I already have a JR XS3 Pro ready to use with it, too.

By the way, who makes the Gladiators?

I view stadium trucks as a very capable on-road car (in addition to racing on smooth dirt, of course). I also have lots of street tires for them. They are much better for running on parking lots than TCs, since they have more ground clearance and bigger tires. And it doesn't hurt when you run off the pavement, either.

Thanks

Pro-Line makes two versions of that tread design.

Thank you for the comments.

This set-up is excellent. The tires have lots of grip and handling. The cooling head really lowers the temperature.. maybe a little too low... but tuning can fix that. The Traxxas tuned pipe did give me more mid and top end power. I like it, only thing is, it doesn't fit perfectly with the mud guards, but it still is fine. Traxxas is coming out with a whole fleet of pipes soon.

I took out the stock rear springs and replaced them with the extra springs i got from my Revo. The blue ones. The rear end is much stiffer and my Jato grips better from take off. My tires are bald now but still grip somewhat. I was playing around with a Revo with an os18 in it. Plus he had higher gearing. From the take-off we where together. But i was very slowly pulling from him in the end. Around 40-50mph.

Oh how I love to mention how TOWER literally has nothing in stock anymore. The Jato was pushed from Late april to early may, to MID may, and NOW to LATE MAY. Funny how that figures to happen now. I am glad to have ordered my Tmaxx parts directly from traxxas before they went "out of stock" because tower pushed those parts back into JUNE.

Anyone notice that no kyosho products are in stock? Gonna have to wait for Kyosho America to get going. Boy, GPMD is a PITA.

I'm sure tower has been calling their people trying to get parts in. Theres some sick money to be made here.

One thing I'm wondering about. With the e-z start being on the top of the body, has anyone noticed dirt and such getting in there. I would guess with roll overs and such, that junk would get in that little space.

Tower has been terrible for parts for the past 5-6 months. I have been strapped for repairs until now, had to order direct.

unbreakable--i see you are using a different radio, when you switch out the rx did you switch out the stock servos? if not, did you notice any twitching. I am going to swith to a new radio, but read some post where people are saying they got horrible twitching with the stock servos for some reason, some claim it ruined the rx.

I'm using my Spektrum on my Jato and have twitching. I'm currently still running the stock servos but have new ones on the way. I had the same problem with Spektrum and Hitec 625s. It's mainly my throttle servo that I notice the most. At the track holding the throttle in one position it fluctuates..fast..then slower.
