DANG! now thats tight ass.

rebinc -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (6/9/2005 6:42:01 AM)

Hi, i have a jato and no one is saying what bodies actually fit these things. If any one else has a jato and another stadium truck let me know if the other bodies fit the jato somewhat nicely. I don't want to just buy a clear stock jato body.

Kemo -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (6/21/2005 3:46:38 AM)

Good question... anyone else slip a aftermarket shell on it yet?

Medrivfast -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (6/21/2005 4:32:25 AM)

Same body type but i bought it off of Ebay like this. They do sell the clear stock body.

ROADRACER516 -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (6/21/2005 5:32:58 AM)

OK.....so I have read this entire thread as this new Jato 2.5 caught my eye a couple months back. I am going from an X-Cellerator to possibly a Jato. Althought the X-Cellerator is my first nitro car, I have run the piss out of it and I think I have about 6 gallons of fuel through it + 1 extra motor. This thing is pretty darn fast as well. I run mostly on pavement and have no plans on racing, but am staying away from a street car as I like to jump, run it through grass and do the occasional dirt runs as well, plus the street cars need really good pavement and I like to run it around my house.

I want a durable and fast RWD nitro. I have read a ton on a new controller (maybe the Airtronics MX-3S?), should I buy one of those as well? What spares should you buy at the time of purchase? I have bought more spares for this XTM car then I could have ever imagined, but being a former motorcycle roadracer, I am really used to having a spare for just about everything! I seem to be a bit hard on these RC cars as I am with most things with an engine. Thanks for reading, any help is appreciated, I want a kick A** truck that can take a beating and is not a total pain in the a** all the time.

Unbreakable207 -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (6/21/2005 5:33:14 AM)

yah I have tried other bodies, like the crowd pleazer.. to tell you the truth.. go out and buy a clear jato body because nothing looks as sick and sleek as the Jato body.

Kemo -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/9/2005 11:31:44 PM)

Good to hear that the Jato is doing good in racing these days. Lots of people were disbelievers when it came out, but in the right hands, it can be a champion.

peed -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/9/2005 11:46:44 PM)

it will be a champion[;)]

Unbreakable207 -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/10/2005 5:51:46 PM)

It scored 6th at a north west ROAR regional, and it's only been 2 months [:)]

peed -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/10/2005 6:08:37 PM)

give the jato some time and youll see[;)]

EdsWords -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/14/2005 1:10:41 AM)

Oh, look, cool! An official Jato thread. Now everybody can post their Jato reviews, tips, pictures and suggestions here!

yep, thats what a thread is about[8|]

wolfsburg57 -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/19/2005 12:36:46 PM)

Slightly off topic, but has anyone installed an os.18tm in their Jato yet? I know its overkill, but I have one in my revo and I was going to do a temporary swap just for the heck of it (as if my tires aren't bald enough already). Just from eyeballing it, looks like the bend in the exhaust header isn't tight enough for the jato, also looks like the ball cup on the throttle arm (that works the carb slide) doesn't have anything to attach to.

Anyone worked through this yet and have any pointers?

Steve

Unbreakable207 -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/19/2005 7:17:59 PM)

A lotttt of people over in the traxxas forums have installed .18TM's. Looks like a nice easy install.

The feedback has been good too.

I just installed a 625mg servo in my Jato, and the control is unbelievable. Also, just yesterday I was doing some jumping and I accidently pulled off a back flip. It was easy too.... [X(]

I can't wait to get back to the track, kick some a$$.

Here's my modded Jato:

rai -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/21/2005 8:57:49 PM)

Has anyone heard of or know where i can get the rd racing wheel adapters? It's suppose to allow you to mount associated wheels to the jato. I know i could just buy proline agitator wheels or some rpms but i have a rc10t4 that i'll be able to interchange wheels with.

rai

R_man_5k -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/22/2005 5:42:06 PM)

I am sure rd racing will have them for sale on their web site soon. I hope they come up with a few more trick parts for it too... I know they are testing and racing the Jato. Hope to see parts from them soon.

Kemo -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/26/2005 2:03:43 AM)

Would be nice to hear or read about Jato's racing in the mags... but of course, they are already prepping up for the IFMAR race. When is it btw?

R_man_5k -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/26/2005 2:28:32 AM)

In the September RC Driver there is a quick blurb on Slayden's Jato on page 136. He finished pretty well in the RC Pro Series, South Division - Round 2 in the 1/10th Expert Truck A.

Just a blurb, but it is a start. We just need more time and more drivers at the big events. It will come.

Kemo -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/26/2005 3:48:02 AM)

Is slayden strictly racing the jato? he's doing suprisingly well. 5th in ranks!

RAGE 5 -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/26/2005 8:19:36 AM)

i love my jato no aftermarket parts yet except tires i've had it for about 3 weeks this friday great in the grass with my tire setup and i like the stock tires for pavement even though the rear ones are bald but this weekend going to the lake and farm with it and can't wait to try my tires on dirt and gravel should be fun
and another minnesotan

Ben

R_man_5k -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/26/2005 2:01:26 PM)

rccars411 - Sladen races the Revo also. In both the small block and big block class. Does well in both. Go to the traxxas web site and you can read some of his articles. He said that he may have the Jato set up sheets done soon also.

beatlebum -> RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread- (7/26/2005 10:49:00 PM)

Hopefully this will bring attention to the other factory drivers. are there currently any other Jato racers doing well in rc pro series this year?
