The annual Skydiver Rally will be held September 17-18 at the AMA facility at Muncie.

I have been helping two Belgian skydiver enthusiasts with getting their necessary invitations from the AMA to attend this event.

I met Jules Malfiliet and Theo Vaesen at the German Championships last August. Theo also manufactures jumper bodies and canopys. They will certainly add an international interest to our event. Attached are two photos taken at the German event last August.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Wil's event in July and again at Muncie in September

Paul

Paul,

Does that mean I should leave my skydivers at home and just come for the fellowship?

Hope Jules and Theo get everything worked out so they can participate in Muncie, and i'm sure they appreciate your help.

See ya in July, if all goes well, I bet I can place in the top ten, or twenty at Wil's rally.

Hi Gary,

All is well with Jules and Theo. They have their official invitations to join the event at Muncie.

Don't worry about the competition, you'll do OK. I haven't dropped a jumper since last September and have only flown twice this year. Flew the Wilga earlier this month and it's nice to have it back. Did you get your jump plane repaired or build a new one?

Hi Gary ,

One thing for sure ,without Paul 's help we still wouldn't have any invitation of AMA.
We are Paul very grateful for his help , and also Lisa of AMA .

Then the "Skydiving" DON'T leave the jumpers at home ! The more people participate
with a jumper the more FUN there is for everybody!
And what concern the rally at Muncie , participate and fun is the most important,
Winning is not the main goal .
Through the years that we are involved in " RC SKYDIVING " we have seen many people
entering the hobby rc skydiving , but even more leaving ,because they couldn't
win a contest, for those people winning was the most important .
Theo and i are certainly not the top of the bill ,but more somewhere in the middle.
We certainly don't come to Muncie to show you how it must be done or "Teach you something "
but we like to come and meet people with the same intrest "RC SKYDIVING"

The travelarrangements are ready and signed , there is no way back we have a "GO"

Hope to meet you in MUNCIE

Jules /Lundy l

Hi Paul,

Ditto, I haven't had a drop since Muncie either, or a drop plane. The (Kange) Monocoupe that I was planning to rebuild didn't work out, it was a lot worse than it looked when I bought it after I started tearing it apart. Oh well, I got a good engine out of the deal.
I could fix the one I crashed in Muncie ,but I really didn't like the way it flew anyway. I may take the engine (ZDZ 60) with me to Joe Nall and if it sells I will scrap the plane. I have a plan in the works, I hope to have a plane ready by Wil's rally. If the plan works It will be a one of a kind plane.

Lundy,

Just kidding about the jumpers, If I only went to win, I would have stopped a long time ago. I haven't been to a meet yet that I didn't have fun. I had fun at the last one, even after I broke my plane in half.
By the way, what is the incidence (angle) of the chutes that you are flying?
Do you happen to have video of any skydiver meets that you might bring me a copy of to the Muncie rally?

Hope to meet you soon,

GaryV

What does the Van Fossen name mean?
Last Name: Van Fossen
Variant spelling of Dutch Van Vossen, a habitational name for someone from Vossem in Brabant, Belgium.

Hey Lundy,

Hi Guys:
Jim Boone here. I plan to be at the rally in Muncie as well. Looking forward to meeting you guys from Belgium and learning something about the art of skydiving in Europe. I will be there with two Mikes if I can get them through the airport security check! Paul has sent me pictures of the smoke jumpers so I am anxious to see how ya'll rig them. I will be flying in from Alabama on Sep. 15 so I can visit the AMA facility at Muncie before the rally. Hope I can meet up with all you other early arrivals. Looking forward to the New Albany rally too.
Gary, you need to get busy on a new jump plane. Your jump rig is the best I have seen.
See ya'll later!
Jim

Hi Guy's,

Lundy, a copy of the picture CD would be great, but no need to mail it, just bring a copy to Muncie if you don't mind, thanks.
I've been told that our decendents are Dutch, but I have never really shook the tree to see where we fell out from.

Jim, I'm sure I'll have a drop plane by Muncie, and hopefully by Wil's Rally. It will probably only be set up as a two man drop though.
I plan to use a G-26 for power.
I may also arrive in Muncie on the 15th. It would give me an extra day to size up the foreigners and their secret weapons. (just kidding Jules and Theo)

Wil, any more thoughts on Joe Nall, I'm going down next Thurs. with another club member, if not see ya in July.
