God, yes! Lemme see, lemme see!
VQ is releasing a P-38, but I had their A-26, and was not that thrilled with that type of construction and quality.
I'm a jet NUT, and a seaplane nut, too! Tell all!

Easytiger,

What did not like about the VQ Invader? I recently read a review by twinman and it seemed positive. I saw the plane in Toledo last year and almost bought it. I rated the construction around a C+ to a B. I was just not sure of their covering. At this time it is still on my short list of planes to buy next year. But VQ's P38 or VQ's P40 or KMP P-38 might win out. I just got to watch my pocketbook.

The covering was actually alright. I don't love the vinyl covering, but it does work. And it shrinks like crazy when you hold the heat gun anywhere near it.
I did not care for the really cheap non-balsa, non-ply boxwood used to build it, I did not like the thin plastic nacelles, I did not like the lack of glue in many joints...After my first landing, a whole engine and firewall FELL OFF while taxying in. Scary!
It flew fine, until I reverse charged the battery and reduced the thing to many small pieces. I would rate it a C- for construction quality.
Mind you, it was a pretty reasonable value for the $300 it cost, and it did fly well. BUT...I would rather have paid more for a better quality model. I think in the long run, there would have been durability issues, but I did not fly it long enough.
I think I will take a pass on the VQ P-38, I don't think they have changed their construction techniques, and wait for the KMP P38, even if it costs more.

I have some new picture on the web site of the P-38 and P-51. Actual model shots from the Model Show in China will appear by the weekend.

The Sea Fury, P-38 and P-51 along with a glimpse of the AT-6 Texan will be there.

Just the thought of high quality twin engine warbird ARF has me totally excited.

The picture is on their site, and it looks most cool.

I am hoping that it is the first of many.

Mr. Kondor seems to be very responsive to us, my reading is that he wants to make a high quality product, and offer some ARFs that no one else is offering.

The P-38 has always been a favorite of mine, and with two Saito 72's it should be awesome.

I have been campaigning him for my all time favorite twin engine warbird but I will let him make the announcement when he is ready.

Mr. Kondor seems like an owner who cares, it really doesn't get better than that.

Hello All
I have tried to talk him into a Mosquito or a Hornet or even a F7F in 1/8 scale. I would also like to see a F8F in a 72" span.

I can't wait for the P-38, you had some good ones there but you still haven't hit my all time favorite.

I must say you have some great unique planes there.

So cool.

OK what is your Favorite? Please don't tell me it's something German. If not, I HOPE it's the Black Widow, in which case I support your choice wholeheartedly. I hope it would be about 99" (1/8). The last one I could think of is the F-82, and I am not either hot or cold about that one. I still want to see a F8F in 72".

The Mitchell B-25, specifically outfitted to look like the ones that took off from the USS Hornet on Gen. Jimmy Doolittle famous attack on the Japanese homeland.

I have always loved the B-25, as a kid, I made every plastic model available of them, the ceiling of my room looked like a squadron was ready to bomb my bed.

I would love to have a quality ARF of the Doolittle B-25, with a commerative emblem for this plane that was so important in our aviation history.

I would like it to be greater than 80" wingspan, so it would be IMAA legal, and if you give me a full wish list, in addition to retracts, I would want working bomb bay doors, I want to fly low over the field and drop my 'sock with pastels' bombs on the middle of the field.

I have talked to two friends, and we are planning a squadron if this one truly becomes available. Think of three or four B-25's coming in for a bombing run, how cool would that be?

While I would applaud the Black Widow, I still want my B-25, not a b-24, not an A-26, I want my B-25.

Want to join our squadron? The original Doolittle squadron had 16 planes if memory serves me correctly so we have 12 openings so far.

Would that be magnificient or what?

You know, Steve has a point. An ARF B25 would sell like CRAZY. About 72", not IMAA legal, but 40 sized. 99.5% of the modellers I know could not care less about "IMAA legal", as a matter of fact, they want something smaller to make them easier to transport.
Twin tails right in the prop blast, big nacelles to take tanks and retracts, trike gear, VERY popular airplane, great history, huge wing, easy to install flaps...
It would be at least as popular, if not more so, than the P-38. MUCH more popular than the A-26, which is not such a beloved airplane. If you are like me, you built one only because it was one of the few twins out there.
A P61 is MY favorite, but a B25 will be a HIT. Go find yourself a Royal B-25 kit, try Hobby Barn, and send it to Hong Kong...

A Bearcat will do well, too.
