I'm still confused on what percentage to run with my engine. It seems like on posts it says they higher the better (more power) some people say they run even 30% heli fuel. At my field everybody says that the higher percentage doesn't make a difference and I should run around 5-10%.

The engine I have is an 0S 91 s stroke. What do you guys think I should run in it?

Your OS four stroke would like something in the 10-15% range. 30% is a waste of money on that engine.

Enjoy,

Jim

Chances are your OS .91 will be happy with 5-15 % nitro.

Nitro will improve idle and throttle responce.

Going from a 5 to 30 percent will only get another 500- 600 RPM's

A nice muffler will do more.

But since you mentioned nitro I'm sure other will chime in , good luck

YUP.

Guys running 30% hel fuel are doing that on the Saito 180. It responds well to that fuel.
Unless your flying competition or racing--then paying big $$ for lots of nitro is just pissin' money away. If your engine is a bit small for the plane and you need more power--then don't cook it with more nitro. Buy a bigger engine. Or try a different prop.

Hi!
Most engines can only tolerate 15% nitro because of their high compression ratio.
Some engines, like the SAITO .180 can be run on as much as 30% nitro. But that is an exception to the rule.
Nitro gives more power provided the engine's compression ratio isn't to high to begin with , other-vise the performance will decline and the engine run very bad.
So adding 5-10% nitro is all what it takes to have a really good running sport engine.

I wouldn't run any more than 15% in it, however....I wouldn't be afraid to add
more oil....castor of course.
