Hi folks,
have you already seen my Monsoon with pps and new painting?
I also updated the SlowRide-4D. It is now perfect - as Sascha (who developed the SlowRide) told me.

Download

Have fun!

Wow the Monsoon looks rocking!

Lego does Sascha have a Slow Ride with PPS setup? If so I'd love to see it!

Hi,
as far as I know Sascha is going to build one. I'm not sure when he will have done it... don't know.

Hi,

I mentioned this before but I don't think you picked it up . I have a Monsoon in real life (in the building process) I was wondering if it is a realistic proposition to do this 4D PPS ?

Many thanks!!

Greg.

Hi Greg,
well if you mean that the Sim can be used to exercise flying 4D then I should say, that it may be sufficient to get familiar with the basic bahavior, but of course the models in the Sim do not behvae exacly as the real ones. But some are really close.

So, to train the reflexes and maneuvers it is verry good and if you e.g. train with the Monsoon in AFPD, I believe that you are well prepared for the real one.

@Dion, nice shots btw.!

Greets,
Lego

Hi Lego,

That is not quite what ment but is very useful anyway! .

What I mean is would my REAL Monsoon be suitable for REAL PPS?

Many Thanks!!

Greg the answer to your question is yes. I'm sure with today's technology and PPS's out there it will be easily done with the weight of the Monsoon or Slow Ride.

No problem ....

I think that is what your question is asking to Lego ... when will PPS no longer work on an airplane. The problem that somebody is going to have to overcome is inertia. Airplanes are designed to fly forward meaning you'll need more power to stop and airplane then to fly an airplane, unlike a heli. A heli has very little aerodynamics so it gets all it's lift from the giant rotors. The reason why you can make a helicopter move so quickly in any direction (3D, 4D or whatever you want to call it) is because of the size of the rotor (what we airplane guys call props). I would say that it's going to be a long time before you see a 40% Edge hold reverse pitch tail up at the field because of the weight mass to prop ratio. Where on a helicopter the rotors sometimes twice as long as the heli.

Now this is all going to be determined on who is brave enough to risk their planes and who is not ... but will be fun to watch who takes it to the highest level.

Thanks Dion,

I think I'll try a Shocky with it first!

Hi,
yes, I agree. If you compare the mass of a Monsoon with that of a Shocky, they differ not too much. So, with the right engine, it should be no problem to have a PPS on a Monsoon.
