Thanks Frema

its strange,  I thought 1 of the 3 legs had a stripped thread as none of the screw would tighten fully in that one leg, so i ordered another full set of legs and screws and they are exactly the same problem

when I fasten all the screws as fully as I can the Bullet is slightly off centre, when activated the cup vibrates on the compressor nut and will then will not retract when the starter is turned off

i forgot to ask you
but did you solve the problem already?
regards,
Martin.

Hi Martin

Yes, the front cover holes are not accurately drilled at 120 degree spacings, I will order a new one, shame as its a JTL 1200 which is a rebranded Jet Joe and the cover is anodised a very nice green.

Does anyone know if a servo tester can be used for the throttle control instead of a full radio rig ?  I only want to bench run this engine

Best Regards

Jaz

you can make a tool to check your alignment with a homemade tool like this.(o.d same as inside starter housing i.d. on small end to fit impellor nut. With the cover on it should slide straight onto nut. the front cover can bend easy. reverse tool to bend the cover. If you want it perfect make a mount for your cover on the lathe. Chuck up a scrap piece of 3" plastic pipe face off and trim o.d. back 10mm or so the cover will slide on tight . glue on some emery cloth on front cover on the area the legs will hit. hold small end of tool with drill chuck housing on tool with leg toward cover. spin the cover and slide tool and starter housing out to contour legs to match cover shape. remove emery cloth and put 3 pieces of tape where the legs go. trace the outer edge of each leg on masking tape mark center and drill. assemble and check with your tool.

Hi guys,
I test run my JJ3000 after it came back from service.
The service test **** was flawless... the engine rev to 115K with temp of 720c.
on my bench test the results was rev up to 102K, heat up to 800c and the ECU slow it down to 92K....
Bearings are new, injectors free and clean (I test it) and the engine is well balanced.
Every thing looks o.k but the engine heat up....
Do you have any idea why?

the gap between compressor blade and intake cover?
the gap between turbine blade and NGV ring?

Edited to remove response to a deleted post.

So what do you think is the problem Martin?
Along with what Christian said there are other items that can cause high EGT like leakage around the case, especially where it fits around the front cover/diffuser, faulty EGT probe, also too small of a tailcone.
But this turbine was running ok so without seeing it myself hard to state what.

Yes, its not easy to tell the precise failure
but, the engines i had for service had trouble with the ngv
ofcourse what Christian is saying is also true
if you have to much gap between compressor and intake , it can be a hot runner
and yes you are right too , leakage around the front cover in the case can be a probem and causes high egt
i will come back on this
Regards,
Martin.

well, i notice very quick whats wrong with a turbine when it runs
i have so many experiance, its not a problem for me
also other brands like jetcat make mistakes , like the p20
an engine that can produce much more power .
Regards,
Martin.

I will check the gaps and come back with an answer.
What can be wrong with the NVG ?
Also, I attached some pics from the checks I did before the last test run (after the engine was packed for two years...)
The pics is from a cellphone so the quality is not something...
