According to bill the wing bolt vibrated out in flight, or was not installed preflight.

Hello

i move the CG 3/4'' back of recommended and i was surprised to see how the plane flies.

I do not need rudder-elevator mix and rudder to aileron mix.
I can fly inverted (horizontal or 45 degres up) with hand off the transmitter

Daniel

Hey dntmn,

How's that Graphtec 3d weave gear holding up ? Was it the one for the Carden 35% extra ? Did you get it from TBM ?

Rocky Keep the aluminum on I switched back after the third flight. I will be sending it back to graftech for replacement gear. I had a moderatly hard landing and it delaminated. Aluminum will be staying on my 260.

Rocky V and Dan: I ended up putting a "not needed anymore for a 35% Carden Edge" landing gear on my WH 260 and have not had any further gear bending problems. The original WH Al gear was just like tin foil - even on a relatively soft landing it would bend back and ruin my flying day. I tried one of Tom's fiberglass gear but it delaminated. Sooo, that's why the 35% Carden Al gear. All it took was to drill out the mounting holes (fuse mount) and bolt it on. It's about the same weight (who worries about weight??) and looks good.

Yea Bobby, that's where I'm at now. Yesterday, after landing, made a turn at the end of the run-way that did'nt feel too fast but when the plane was comming back toward me one leg was bent up, or in, depending on how you look at it. I bent it back, but now it makes me a little nervous. Also cracked the wheel pant on that side. I took them off and flew more on it yesterday, but set it down very gingerly.

May I suggest two options for a stronger gear.

The gear from our G202 will fit with a little drilling, and it's much stronger. I think this is because of the straight legs.

Also we sell a glass-filled nylon gear made by Tetherite. It's about the same size and weight as stock and it seems to be very strong. Also a straight leg gear.

Hi Tom
Do you still have the white painted FG gear with rounded (scale look) legs? I would not recommend it. It's the same weight of your aluminium gear but mine begins to delaminate and cracks after only 20 flights and not hard landings?

I plan to switch to stock aluminium soon.

Daniel

Mine don't rock unless I enter it with a wing low.

Did you connect elevator servos with a matchbox or mixed together in the receiver?

My CG is set like this:
-fly the plane 45 degres upline
-1/2 roll inverted
-hands off on the TX, the plane continue to climb at 45 degree without touching elevator.

Is my CG to much forward?

I know everyone will disagree, but I sold my 260 to a better 3D pilot than I and he said he added lots of tail weight and it flew 3D great. I trust him so add a little at a time and see what she does. You will have to give a little to get a little.
