No I haven't, and I probably won't for a while... my ZDZ-80 is currently pulling my H9 Edge around. I think I'll fly that for a while before I swap all the goodies over to this plane. The Wildhare will make IMAC seem easy after practicing with the Edge. The firewall does look fairly small... I too was wondering about the firewall strength after cutting. I will probably use a 3/16!QUOT! think maple strip inside the firewall between the top two bolts and another between the bottom 2 bolts. I might also make my !QUOT!stand-offs!QUOT! with some maple strip... we'll see... I have a while to ponder it. I did get my plane today!!! Only 2 things wrong that I can tell... 1. I need to re-drill 1 of the aileron hinges 2. The root rib on the left stab is installed at a fairly severe angle... the stab is flush with the fuse on top but not on the bottom, and the mounting tabs are so far away from the fuse that I will not be able to tighten the screws without tearing the root rib off. They are, however, aligned nicely with the wings in the twisting direction... I didn't measure the tip to tip distance to see if everything is square, but I assume it will be since the wings fit VERY flush and, for the most part, the stabs do too. 2.1. The tubes aren't anodized as advertised. The good things... build looks very good. The outer box arrived slightly damaged and very wet, but the inside box and contents were unscathed. There is PLENTY of glue on the inside of the firewall... no room to do Tom's CA dribbling trick. I might still use a little hardwood tri-stock. The covering job is AWESOME. ALL the edges are straight and the uniformity of the overlap is incredible. Wish I could do that!!! I would have used slightly larger screws on the gear plate... just to keep the smaller screws from cutting the motorbox sides like little knives... just me. The ailerons are definitely flexible... it will require 2 aileron servos. Sitting next to my H9 Edge the fuse looks a little smaller... it's narrower, especially in the radio compartment.... just airplane design I guess. The stabs are bigger with larger counterbalances. The cowl is very nice epoxy fiberglass... better than I remember my Extra Special being... though I sold it 8 months ago... memory may be fuzzy. Overall it has sleeker lines... reminds me of a Planes Plus extra a little bit. I'm very impressed with the kit and the manual is excellent. Thanks Tom, and sorry for calling you on Sunday morning... the second box arrived 3 hours after we spoke.
