Hello there, Chip;

I am new with gas planes, having flown electric and nitro powered aircraft for the last 5 years. I haven't got very much cash, but wish to enter IMAC and SCAT competitions. I have been to two SCAT events at our model airfield in Camarillo, CA and assisted as a scribe to the judges. On both events, I got to meet a number of people and found the pilots to be fascinating and enjoyable and helpful.
Just 2 days before the 2nd SCAT event, I was practicing the BASIC routine and on the 6th flight of the day, I crashed the plane to a 5-cell NiMh pack which was down to about 5V instead of 6-7V. I did not do a proper preflight on the airplane on that flight, and lost the plane. Because it was my only "aerobatic, stable" airplane, I was broken-hearted.
But this did not ruin my love of flying and flying precision aerobatics gives me a reason to fly and better my flight skills.
I have an opportunity to buy a SIG EXTRA 300XS with an FPE 2.4 (40cc) engine for about $800.00. Is this a decent plane and engine combo? Secondly, if you know of anyone who can assist with my funding for my planes, I would be greatly appreciative. Also, I would be more than willing to work for it and maybe a place to stay nearby. And I very highly wish to become a top-rated pilot with radio control precision aerobatics.

Thank you for your help.
Crystal Morgan-Wilson

I wished that I had the money to spend on these wonderful aircraft. Unfortunately, I am in a financial bind, as I was and still kinda am, homeless. But, I determined that I would not let that get in the way of my flying. I have all my "Glow" stuff for sale, including two airplanes. One of the planes has a radio with it. The other doesn't. Check out my ads and let other people know as well. Thanks, Crystal

Hi ! I have FPE 2.4 on a Sig Sukhoi and after about 6 flights I can't say enough good things about it. Starts on the first flip after chocking, idles well and generates enough power to fly the Sukhoi with authority.

Hope this helps.

Terry

Hey, that definitely helps. I now have the SIG Extra 300XS in my possession and am looking forward to trying out the airplane this weekend, at least run the engine.
Thanks for the help, guys.

Just wanted to give you all a report on my FPE 2.4 (40cc) engine along with my Sig Extra 300XS. I am in love with the combination. Landing this airplane is a dream, although with a 21X8 prop, I need to keep the idle up a little on landings. I flew my first IMAC competition about 3 weeks ago, and enjoyed it very much. I was scared to death, but landed the airplane myself and was proud of finishing the event with no mishaps. I did come in last place in basic but I gave it my best try.
Thanks for all the support and help. Crystal
