Hi Josh,

I finally received my Jumping Jack today. I ordered it from Germany so it took a while to arrive, you can not find Fliton models easily in Europe. The model is state of the art I really look forward to flying it. Despite that I really struggle with English of the manual, I can not really understand what is meant in some sections so I would like you to give me some help.

1)Do you use an dihedral angle at all? It seems that I have the option to adjust my own dihedral angle. In the manual states that distances A and A' must be equal does this give any dihedral or not?
2)Do you use any hinges for the control surfaces or just plain celltape? Do you use any special tape?
3)Any comments on rightthrust or downthrust? In the manual is is mentioned both 1.5 and 2.5 degrees of rightthust which one is correct?
4)What about the nose moment? The designer states that nose moment should be 130mm from firewall to prop plate. Is that the one you tried?
5)What about the CG location? Have you tried the one recommended in the manual?
6)What about the throws for both patterm and 3D? Can you suggest some initial settings to start with?

My Kokam battery seems a bit heavy it is around 150gr, according to your experience where about in the fuselage should I place it in order to achieve as closer as I can the recommended CG location?

Josh I hope you will find some time to answer my questions.

Thanks and regards,

Nick

1. I use 0 dihedral
2. Plain tape, Works great
3. Thrust is built in, just put the mount onto the stock stick
4. I use the same moment as stated.
5. I CG mine on the spar, at the root. Thats where Ive found I like it best.
6. I run all the throw I can get for 3D, and Ive never set up pattern rates on the JJ, but I would imagine about 25% elevator, 30% rudder and 50% ailerons would work well.

I would mount the battery above the landing gear, on the tray. It works perfectly there.

Good luck! The plane flies great, you will like it.

Josh

Thanks Josh. Can you please describe in a few words how you set the 0 degree dihedral? It is not very clear in the instructions manual.

Rgrds,

Nick

Use a level and measure the wings until they are level. Hold the fuse on a flat surface to do this. Glue them in level.
