I am in the planning process for a little hog for a Magnum 30fs. I thought about a 36 or so wing span and aim for a weight of 50oz or so. I much rather your weight! What kind of structure did you use? The full size hog kit has entirely too much lite ply for me. I was thinking of a truss fuse side and a wing build similar to the kit. Most importantly, how does it fly?

The wings originally came from a destroyed GWS PT-17. I added ailerons to the top wing and connected them to run off the bottom. The fuse is made up of 1/8" balsa sheet with doublers in the high stress areas. I just designed the fuse to look like the Hog, you could probably shrink a set of plans and use the outline and get the same effect. When I built it, it was supposed to have a .10 sized 2-stroke, but the guy I built it for felt like it deserved a 4-stroke. Had I seen this coming, I would have shortened up the nose about 1". I set the top wing at 0 incedence and the bottom at +1. It is a sweet flier, very stable, plenty of power.

Thanks for the info. I do have a set of plans from a friend that I intend to shrink. I really like his bipe and I have a 30fs lying around looking for a home. I was also considering doing the sheet fuse construction, it seems to work well. I'll probably post a thread when I finish.
