The arfs that were raffled? A club member at my field won one of them. He is trying to figure out what to do with it now.

Joe Nall has to be the very best RC event I have ever attended. My one and only complaint was some of the pilots not being very courteous and making flights that were upwards of 30 minutes. I was in line behind someone, I didn't get his name but saw him wearing a JR team shirt later, flying that new Extra 260 from Hangar 9 and he flew for 40 minutes.

Was it just me,, but,, I wasn't really impressed with the 52% Extra with the ZDZ 420 engine, it just wasn't that impressive,it really didn't fly as though it had much more power than a 150cc twin,,,,, but someone might tell me different,,

Your right on. Me and others talked about the same thing concerning the big Extra. I was very impressed by the plane, equipment, money spent, etc., but you really get to see what the current aerobatic limit of the hobby is concerning power-to-weight ratio. If you have ever seen the European annual meet (I think called La Farte or something close) you really see the limit. These 100+ lb birds just seem to "drive" around the sky like a big Cadillac and can't really dance like some of the 30 - 40 lb birds. I'm sure some of the guys with the aeronautical engineering degrees can indicate that the performance characteristics are non-linear and the performance drops exponentially when you get over 50 lbs, unless the speeds increase significantly.

Good topic, i'm sure it is covered somewhere in RCU.

More than one was raffled??? I bought a couple tickets for the 42% Edge that was raffled... they did a demo flight with the four electric motors in it at a price tag of $8600.00 just for the four motors and batteries! I think the plane was worth $1,000.00...

It was worth nothing to me, I couldn't smell any 93 octane mixed with amsoil or here the motor growling in a Torque Roll,,,
