Chasman, yes I did use different wires. I like them to be secured tightly with a screw. This way the concact resistance is lower, resulting in less current draw. Basically I used the brass inside of a common electric cable connector as is used in household electrics (i.e. in lamps and so on). Solder a cable to the one end, use the screw that normally would hold your lamp's cable to tighten it onto the glow plug and cover the whole thing with heat shrink... Done. Simple, yet very effective. Don't try to start the engine the way you describe! I have tried it! Will give you muscle ache! It will start eventually, but oh - the hard work. And rather un-elegant. From my experience, priming is the way to go! The guys at the field alway look with envious eyes when I say: Let's start her and then it fires on first, lame throw... Cheers, Martin
