CF sounds like a good idea if it can be glued into the wing OK.

I was going to rought up the cf that goes into the wing and then use gorilla glue, or 30 minute epoxy?

What do you think of the gorilla glue idea?

I have never worked with CF like this so I do not know what glue will work.

I think the only product that will work with the C/F is hysol. its a 2 part epoxy of sort they use it on the comp-arf's plane's. its a bit expensive though

here's a link to the product.

Given the uncertainty, and the fact that if it doesn't work the wing is ruined or if it works halfway the whole plane could be toast, I think I'd stick with aircraft ply parts and either epoxy or CA.

8 of these tabs weigh about 1-2 grams. We already know that lite ply works great in normal circumstances, why take a chance with CF?

Carbon Fiber is very CA freindly. I would consider CA without thinking twice.

I used some CF tape on horizontal stabs with just epoxy in an Edge once. Never had any problems. You can use CA blue on CF, I have to fix CF spinners.

Hey Ken, where did you find the motor standoff's at?

I'm looking to do the same setup and any help would be great.

You can get the standoff's from desert aircraft there 3" then add a 1/4 ply spacer.

Cool deal, thanks for the info guys!

I'm trying to get all my ducks lined up so I can mow then down in one shot!
Nothing is more frustrating than having 98% of everything you need then you find that one part you have to order and it will take forever to get here while your build is on hold!

Any other goodies I need to know about?

Or heck, is there a manual online for the Ultimate? I saw the ones for the Giles and Extra's and such.

Thanks again

Thanks Mark,
I tried calling this morning and got the answering machine so I e-mailed Tom and I'll wait for the reply.
Anyone think of anything off-hand that I'll need special? I have quite a stock of goodies and a decent LHS but if someone thinks of something that a LHS might not have that needs to be ordered please let me know.

Since the tank sits deep inside the fuse and the fuel lines are totally covered, You will feel alot more at ease knowing that your tank installation is bulletproof.

Starting with Aerotrends blue gas lines...I use soldered barbs on the interior and exterior of the brass fuel tubing, and I also wrap the fuel lines with sullivan twist-ties. I then finish the install with a sullivan heavy duty aluminum stopper.

All these items can be found on tower hobbies web site.
