I like it... I wish you'd produce that one!

But back on topic... I've been searching for 50cc planes.. How would this be for a first Gasser and first Biplane!

I would not make this your first Bipe. I had only flown a Hog Bipe prior to this plane and I find it to fly VERY different than what I am used to. You might consider one of hte 40size ultimate bipes that are out there first. As for first Gasser, that I would also have to say try something else. This is more of a builders plane and it has special needs during construction. It helps to already know what to do in a Gasser prior to building this plane.

Not saying you can't do it, I'm only saying I wouldn't do it.

I just wanted to add some new info on my plane. I removed the covering off the bottom of the plane back to where the yellow starts. This gave me access to the underside of the cockpit. I installed 2 basswood cross beams and mounted my LiIon Battery on it. This moved it back about 6 inches. I also moved my ignition battery back 3 inches. This moved my CG back about 3/4". BOY what a differnece this made. THe plane lands so much easier now. Inverted still requires allot of elevator but it's better.

I think I am going to add some wieght to the back end and pull the CG back some more. I'll add 1/2oz at a time till I get it where I want it.

Hints:
1. Pull the covering off one side of the forward side to make fuel lines and tank installation easier.
2. Pull covering off area just aft of lower wing mount all the way to the yellow (bulkhead here). Reinforce with epoxy and fiberglass the entire lower wing mount and attach points to bulkheads. While you are here create a mount for your main battery and mount it in the furthest aft section you can. Having this area exposed will also allow for easier install of a rudder servo and it's cables.
3. Watch the main landing gear it does tend to flex and flatten on hard landings.

These are just some of the things I have done to make my life a little better with this plane.

I added these wires and springs for the landing gear to keep the gear from flatening out. I slid pieces of nyrod into the fuel dot and the fuel input line and the fuel vent line and attached them to the fuel tank from the whole where the wing mounts to get the tank into place and have all my lines where i wanted them.

Finally got my Ultimate in the air. First flights are allways nerve rackning, however it went perfect.
My Ultimate is set-up this way: (I hope to answer a few concerns people have had)
Engine: Stock Zenoah G-62 W/ a home made stainless steel pitts style muffler. (no battery ingition)
Battery: 6 volt KR-1700AU 1700 mah (weight-6.5 oz.) set in the fuselage as far back as possible
CG-about 1/4" - 1/2" behind the recomended location. (I will use this setting for a while as it required little down elevator when inverted.
Servoes-Aileron- futaba S9402 x 2 (I used only 2 aileron servoes and connected the top and bottom with a pushrod)
Elevator- tower TS-70 X 2
rudder- Hitech HS945MG X 1 (in tail location)
Fuel tanks- 1- 4oz. header tank, 1- 24 oz. main tank located on the CG
Incidence- as recomended
Tail wires- 4-40 wires (metal solder clevis/ Dubro plastic - metal pin)
Control throws- AS RECOMENDED
WEIGHT- 20 LBS w/o fuel ****************************(corrected so to a scale error)
First flight thoughts: it only required 3 clickes left and 1 click down to flyhands off
pitches to the belly and rolls rt in a left knife edge (not much though)
VERTICLE --- OUT OF SIGHT
Hover- good (easier than my 1/4 scale Gene Saucy Exrta)
Tracks- Very good through loops
Inverted - Small amount of down
Spins - Very nice Flat on high rate and very nice and predicable natural spin (elevator and rudder only) on low rate
Snap rolls- good and clean
More to come, maybe tomorrow.
THANKS FOR THE GREAT BUILD THREAD, THE INFO WAS A VALUED HELP.
The only thing I didn't like was the instructions and they weren't that bad
