Hey Joydude, nice to know i'm not alone in here mate... . I just wish we could set up a "REAL" rc club that people would remain commited to. rcdubai hasn't been even touched for like over 2 years. You never know when someone's going to be at the track, no on cleans up, maintains, supports or can (or knows how to) contribute to the track. And when there's a race meet...it's just all word of mouth. The only person i see really paying attention to the track is Rashid from Kajoor. It takes more than just one person throwing a couple of grand around to keep something like this maintained. I wouldn't mind paying annual fees to be a member of a club with a 'real track'. Could you imagine how different our cars' set ups would be if we were able to drive a decently smooth track??? Then we could talk about some 'fine tuning' and 'dialing in' of cars. This beast is just so challenging just to get some sort of level driving on.

General question to throw out...having seen this track. What do you think about an underlay of burlap or something (any ideas) to help keep it's shape. It does get watered down every now and then, but man....does that sand just turn into concrete on your car. The only way to clean it all off properly is to strip the entire car down and clean it with soap and water and a sponge.

Any ideas on how to start a club Joydude? Asking the LHS's here is useless cause they all compete against eachother anyway.

Tommygun 32, I'm currently stationed in Colombia and the few tracks or places I know of here are all grass and not dirt, so I almost envy the fact that you have access to that sandy track. Actually if I had access to that much sand and dunes I would buy a Baja 5b ASAP . The only reason I haven’t is because here in Colombia it rains considerably and most everything is green with very little space to run a 1/8 much less a 1/5 scale buggy.

Holla Morales,

Interesting you ay that about the Baja, cause it's a huge seller out here. And there are places in the dessert where you can run the thing for miles. I know guys who take their Baja's for a spin while their friend drives behind it in a Patrol or something like it. To really run a Baja wide open, I'd say hire an ultralite with a pilot and control it from the air !!! The funny thing out here about the Baja is that most people here speak with an Arabic or Asian accent and they pronounce it BADGA, not BAHA...makes me giggle inside.[)].
As far as the track here, the other problem we're facing is that summer is here now and it's just too HOT and getting even hotter. The track really dries out so badly it basically falls apart and blows away in a strong wind . The jumps end up crumbling. Even if you go for a bashing session, grabbing tools or the bump starter gets dangerous as they can actuall burn your hands if they sit out too long. I was talking to some mates of mine here last night and they've given me an idea. Gonna look into what it would take to set up a proper race track and club here with the help of the local government..... who knows, maybe i'll be starting a new thread asking for design and build help for race tracks....

Hello tommygun32

The track at nad al sheba is very nice. I went there 2 days back and it was very dry. No one maintains it regularly. The pipes are broken. It has a become very uneven on the straight. The jump humps looks smaller and as you said it is falling apart.
