I can't hold back anymore. I really enjoy the videos that people share. However, someone please explain to me why people have to dub music to the already existing sound. I can understand if there's something that should be removed (like vulgar language) , but why the all the stupid music? Rock, rap, country, whatever??? Why???? What music is better than hearing the actual sounds of the aircraft in flight? The sound of tubine blasting by? A Rossi at screaming at 16k? C'mon, guys... Am I missing something here or am I just in a really bad mood?

I'm sure that many people would agree that NO music, subtitles, catchy little subtitles, etc, would be much better to view... Sure, add your copyright info or whatever in the bottom corner, but stop trying to be Spielberg. Does anyone else agree? Sorry for the rant...

this is nothing but totally unnecesary criticism. I've made and posted a few videos that I've dubbed titles and silly sound effects in, and no one had the need to critisize them. I think perhaps you ARE just in a bad mood.

I understand where you are coming from and I agree to some extent. However the music does add to the video if it's choreographed. Sound effects also sound good, but the music does tend to drown out the music of the motors and the sound of the crash.
I could be biased since I'm on dial-up,but that's the way it goes.

I feel it's a gender gap thing, I mean, some of us are flying at in the 50-80 year range and others in their 20-30's etc. That's my .02 cents. - Skyflying1

There is a simple solution. If you don't like the videos then don't watch them.

People spend a lot of time editing their videos, so you should be saying thanks instead of complaining.

When I watch a video with music that I don't like, I just turn down the volume and make buzzing sounds with my lips.

Works for me, but my wife thinks I'm nuts.

I have to agree with the original post. I would rather hear the airplane engine most of the time not some idiot playing a guitar.........

I'd have to say that if you don't like the music, just turn down the sound. The author has every right to be creative as long as it is in good taste. And you have the right to not watch, turn down the audio or to complain and rant. Overall, I'd like to think you are just having a bad day and will get over it.

I like both, I like the sound of the engine, but also like music to a video. Different strokes, right?

It sounds like the consensus is clear: Keep music, but low enough that you can hear the motor and the crash.

I like the music.....the airplane sounds would be nice... but I show the videos to my 4 year old and I don't want him to hear all the Pilots yelling out...."Ohhhhhh $**t!"

I started making r/c videos a few years ago and added a music track to them and it seemed like a novel thing. But I alwyas made sure the real audio was the prominent one and not the music.

I find today many r/c videos have music that is drowning out the plane/car/boat sounds and IMHO that is not a good way to go.

Many times today, when I watch a video I personally find the music track excruciating and so I just mute it. I don't expect my music to appeal to everyone and certainly everyone elses music does not always appeal to me.

As for special effects and subtitles most of the time I find those to be quite entertaining.

Music in flying videos is good if the originator tries to edit the video to match the music. Just throwing in a random rock song does not really enhance a video.
