I want to update my transmitter and receiver but I had one question, what is the difference between a FM transmitter and a synthesizer transmitter.

And which one would be better

SANWA (#MX-3S/40FM) MX-3S Synthesizer 40FM
Or
Futaba (#3PM-FM) Mega Tech 3PM FM75MHz

synthesized means you don't need to change crystal in order to change to a new frequency. Just need to change setting on the transmitter and receiver. It is very convenient if you intend to race - don't have to wait for a free channel.

As far as I know 40 is not a legal frequency in North America for on-road cars. 75 would be better.
