Hello,
I received a Badger airbrush as a gift for my birthday and wanted to get things rolling so I can use it. I bought a small air compressor from Wal-Mart that should do the trick. I need to get a regulator for it and possibly a moisture trap? If both are recommended, what is everyone using? Lots of versions out there , I want to get something decent.

Thanks

does the compressor have a storage tank on it? hopefully it does, you need this to help regulate the airpressure consistancy. if you get the air straight from the motor you could get pulsations in the air flow even with a regulator. but if you do have the storage tank, and it doesnt have a regulator, you need to get one. and if you are to be airbrushing from it, you should get a moisture trap too. you can get one that plugs in directly from the regulator or you can get one that can be put inline on the airbrush hose itself. hope that helps. and good luck on spraying!!

Yep, it has a little 1 gallon reservoir tank. I guess I will look at Lowes or something . Thanks for the reply.

Home Depot carries a HUSKY regulator for around $20 and a separate moisture trap for around $12. I use a small compressor that feeds a Husky 11 Gallon storage tank running the above regulator and moisture trap.

How do I know my compressor already has a "moisture trap"?

Most of the smaller ones don't have one. It will be a clear glass or nowadays plastic bulb with a drain on the bottom and a ceramic filter in the middle of the bulb.

Great so I have a moisture trap!

It's a different term from what we use here, so I wasn't sure what a "moisture trap" was or how it looked, thanks...

That's It! Nice little setup there. Should work out fine. What brush are you using?
