To my knowledge, the ''Mushroom'' tappets are only in the latter ''Big Block'' Saito engines.

The Saito 50 through 100 all use the same camfollowers as the 50. There is no revision letter to these tappets from the beginning.

Enjoy,

Jim

Correct. When compared to a plain cylindric tappet.

Bill.

On the 160 2 cyl the 15-8 or 16-6 work pretty nice.

Rupurt: I take the Kavan and a model Hit & miss engine to oldtime engine shows. I run the Kavan ...showing how easy to start and how smooth they run. I get more people wanting to see the Model Continental AirCraft engine run than the hit & miss. You should see the big smile a true engine lover gets when the Kavan fires up. I only run it for a min or 2 at a time and never go full RPM. I do have plans to put it in a J-3 Cub some day. Or a Fly-Baby mono. Capt,n

My engine finally arrived yesterday, I have mounted it to the plane. Today I fired it up, I think i made the right choice.
I will take it down to the field tomorrow and continue running it in. Thanks again for all the advice.

The ASP/Magnum/SC 160 has a twin needle carb with a low speed mixture screw in the center of the throttle arm.

The OS 120/160 has an airbleed carb only with a idle airbleed adjustment.

Enjoy,

Jim

jim I haven't touched the low end screw yet but it would appear it is far to rich to idle.
