Stew,

Have you checked the engine channel moves fully both ways when you turn the knob or flick the switch on your Tx?

Sorry Brett I haven't any ideas. It seems that everyone's gone deaf!

Greg.

Hi
for PPS you have to separate the controls.
I use slider for throttle on channel 20 in AFPD
and an stick on channel 0 for Pitch.
Stick in the middle will cause zero pitch.

Umm, I don't think so! I simply installed the patch, then the shocky, and it works just off my throttle stick. The motor is set up to run at a fixed speed, and the throttle controls the pitch. I don't know how to solve the problems others are having, but mine worked great right from the start.

I assume the guys that are having problems installed the patch before they installed the shocky and other PPS planes???

Jim

Yep, if I patch it then I can't plug in the USB cord without the error. . . shocky or no shocky. I can load to the main menu if I unplug the USB cord, but as soon as I plug it in and press search the error pops up. I have heard of a few other people with the same problem, none of them have gotten a reply yet.

STLPilot is online now. . . I will check back in a bit.

Thanks to Greg, Juergen, and Jim for your replys and suggestions. Juergen got it right, at least for my set up. I set line 20 "engine" to "not assigned" - or as he put it: channel 0. This solved the problem and gave me both backward and forward movement as the PPS addon intended. Why this works is a mystery to me, but it might help someone else with the same TX - Hitec Prism 7X.

One other interesting thing appeared since I made the setting change: now, by moving the mouse one way or the other the constant motor speed increases or decreases, thereby making the PPS model move faster or slower. I'm fairly certain this was not the case before, and just adds to the general enigma.

I was shocked when I saw the result of this setting change as I had assumed that the "engine" on line 20 was related to helis as it is with the other heli settings. But apparently this is not so. Then why have 4 "engine" settings on the first 4 lines and another down on line 20, and how are they related to the sim and to each other?

Well, enough simple-minded questions - the blooming thing works!, and at least this part of the world is right again.

Stew

Guys I don't know what the problem is but I'll find out. It works fine on all my computers so I have not seen any issues.

But just note that this is a beta and they must have put a revert to previous version for a reason. This usually means they have had glitches. This is from IPACS website.

The files and downloads in this section are BETA version. They have therefore not been tested thoroughly or are only in an experimental state and might still contain bugs. Use the files from this page on your own risk.

There is another forum at IPACS website which they moderate ... not as often as we do, but they are more close niched with IPACS direct. Sorry but my support experience is limited to only what I know from my current database and what I have seen. The programmers know what I don't know on the inside.

Anyhow report bugs here: http://www.ipacs.de/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

If you want to help ... you'll report your bugs. That's what a beta version is ... they are basically asking for anyone to report them. This is common in all of software.

Report them on IPACS forum please. They can't fix what they don't know.

Make sure you post you computer specs.

he he...
that happened to me too!
i downloaded the PPS, and it worked fine.
i tried it out..it was great!
but, then, out of the blue it stopped working.
when i push backward the plane doesn't respond at-all and it does crazy "slow-motion" moves.
and i can't control, than it comes back to the ground and crashes.
so PPS doesn't work for me either :\

I'm having a problem, if I up the voltage on the pack, after about 10 minutes of flying
and when it crashes I lose more and more rpm at each extreme?

The lack of feedback from IPACS on my problem is pretty annoying. I can't even get a reply to let me know they are working on it. . . or if they've even seen my posts. I guess this is another point to add to those many G3 vs AFPD threads. . . AFPD goes down and your on your own. . . and my 15 days are up. . .
