Well Anjinsan! I have to say that it really bothers me when someone takes what I have wrote as a personal attack, the posts never attacked you, so I do not know why the chip on the shoulder response. Chill out! life's too short to spend your time showing everyone how angry you are. As for flying lessons, I feel that is not what I need, I do just fine flying all sorts of different types of planes from Pontoon planes to low wings and everything in between, even some imaginative designs.
Like I said in my earlier post, I am done with what you childishly refer to as !QUOT!Whining!QUOT!, I am more then glad to pass the torch to you, since you seem to have a grudge against any Anti- Parkzone sentiment.
As for what this forum is for, it is not to be one sided, but, to offer views from different facets of this hobby so that those of us can make an educated decision to buy this plane, or to look to others for fixes and modifications. Maybe you spend way too much time with your planes and need to seek some female or male companionship (Whatever your into) and just enjoy life. As for finding the whiners section, with you here now, I think that I have found it.
Good luck with your anger, now you just need to manage it.
    Steve

Sounds sooo good! man that sounded great, you were probably shaking , just a little Eh!
Look forward to pics and also to hear how Tuskeegee does. Great work! What did you do about the ailerons? did you use two separate ones or one central one? and did you go with a live rudder or left the static one?

    Please tell us more sir!!!

2 55's driving the ailerons, 2 55's driving the rudder and elevator, 1 81 running the gear.
Rudder was a bear, due to wide bottom they put on it. I may redesign a more normal version on the next one. I didn't attempt to use it on the maiden, I'm still not sure I like the style, too boxy of a LE. Just looks clunky.
I have a servo reducer coming for the 81, make the gear work a little slower, instead of snap up and down.
Oh well, I'll keep plugging on her, and work out the kinks.
Gotta break out the boxed bird and tear it apart and rebuild now. Plus hang the Mega on it.
Going to be a fun bird.

GG, you rock, dude. That sounds like a fantastic bird! You need to contact the good folks at PZ and show them what you did. PLEASE get some video if possible!

Man, I can't wait to get flying again. Been doing the e-mail thing with PZ. They've encouraged me to send the wreck back to them regardless of the fact that I took the fuse apart. Since I still have the box and since bare fuses are still on back order, I might take them up on that. I just need a shipping box but I can probably get one at the hobby shop. It only cost PZ a little over six bucks to ship my Cub in the first place.

Back on subject: Keep us posted!

GG, Congrats on finally getting Frankenstein airborne!!!! I think Parzone should sell your full house version (with better tx, dual mini aileron servos, brushless, LIPO, retracts and rudder setup) for $210-$230 and the basic (our) version at $110. They'd make the average around $160 and there'd be basic and pro version; everybody's happy!
On a side note, Bombshell Betty is now rebuilt and waiting for a calm day.
Can't wait to see the video!

Frankenstein was just the test bed, for your tips and my ideas. I'll do a photo shoot of conversions when I do up Tuskeegee. For all to share.

My Swallow charger finally got here today from Down under. Now if I can just figure out what/how to hook up my battery leads to these banana clip leads that insert into the charger. Guess I'll need to visit my LHS.

Me too! I contacted them and told them of the esc failure and they want me to send it and the damaged pieces back to them, so I'm going to do that.

You'll find the PZ warranty program very good, I've yet to have been charged for anything I sent back to them.
And on that note, upon opening the box on the bird that's been sittting in storage awaiting the conversion into Tuskeegeee, I found that apparantly they had some trouble fitting it into the box. It looks like someone used their foot to cram the package together before putting her in the box. Fuselage and wing are both damaged. Oh well, off to UPS today. And I ordered
enough parts from Horizon to build one last night. Just couldn't wait.

So, maybe a tip. Even if you are not going to use something for a while, its best to check it when you receive it.

Libertarian, I do not know how good you are at soldering, but putting some Deans or other comparable type male/female leads on will be worth the effort. You may have to make your own leads. But when it is all done, you will know that the connections are secure and won't arc or spark and wear out the connectors. So break out the heat and start making some molten metal.

Thanks GG; I hope you're right.

    Marsh Man,
Funny thing happened yesterday to convince me to do just what you suggested!

I took the plane out and the batt hadn't charged hardly at all. I got about a 2 minute flight, so I recharged the plane in my Chevy Tahoe instead of the Ford F-150. The battery light blinked a good while (before attaching the batt) just as it used to a few times in the ford which now blinks about one second lately.

I had a good feeling about this.

40 minutes later I walked up to the truck just as the battery quit charging and the light stopped flashing.

I took out the plane and cranked her up and tossed her off, and she promptly rotated hard to the left and crashed

It must have been because of having extra power/torque? because after I dusted her off and noting that the entire spinner assembly had broken clean off (I had glued the spinner to the backing plate with a little elmers glue) and the wing rear had popped up slightly, I tossed her off and she flew like she was brand new! Yes, I popped the wing rear back in tight first.

Tons of power, doing loops and rolls and having a blast, and then it happened!

The battery cover flew off! Ya' know it is SO damn hard getting that stinkin' battery out of that tight hole when I am in the house, but that battery slipped right out of that hole as I was half in a half loop half left turn! Then I flew around about a minute trying to decide what to do. First I reduced power (I was at WOT) and noticed that the plane sputtered a few times as the leads stretched out so I decided I'd better land. So I then did a very nice landing and started searching for that battery cover. Never did find it but I found the one I lost last week about 50 feet away! It was really bent up but I straightened it and epoxied it with Gorilla glue today and duct taped it on (just in case) for todays flights. I noticed today that in the lead from the battery that the tiny female recepticals for the male charger pins were totally stretched out (picture John Holmes and ....> never mind)
I noticed this because I couldn't seem to get a good connection with the charger even in the Tahoe, plus there was NO resistance to plugging in the charger at all! NOW, I start thinking this may have been my charging problem all along! I am definitely getting Deans connectors tomorrow (and the mini switch for the Miklos conversion) and Swallow charger leads!

Oh, yeah so I then tried using a toothpick to straighen up the female sheaths in the plug and it pretty much worked so I was out flying it today (looping away) and when I came in and cut power it rotated HARD to the right and crunched the cowl to pieces. That's okay, it was pretty cracked up (and reglued like crazy) anyway. Time to use my last one and buy more cowls & battery doors too. I think the loss of left hand torque must have caused the rotation to the right when I cut the motor?

    Happy flying.

    Richard

    Libertarian,
Ship happens. Glad to see Mr Murphy is out bothering someone else for a while.
As for your item about walking back to the truck. I at one time did that also, with the included charger. Came back one time to find a smoking, spewing pack on the floor.
Melted right into the floor mat. Never again, charge outside the vehicle now.
    Just a hint.
