I have a on board voltage meter as well. Hopefully I can find a manual fail safe to try out or maybe the built in fail safe measures the voltage and shuts down the receiver. I guess I 'll have to see in an open field.

If you have a 4cell receiver pack, then try that one, without the engine turned on. It should drop below failsafe threshold reasonably fast.

Else since your car is running a Zenoah engine, then look at the engine kill failsafes from http://www.tune-fg.de http://www.tune-fg.de/motorfailsafe.htm (Sorry, only in German)
They make versions, are totally independent of the RC system. Only measures battery voltage and shuts down the engine if that gets too low.

The receiver has a built in failsafe that kicks in somewhere around 3 volts to 3 1/2 volts, can't remember exactly. What most people fail to realize is they must rebind the system after radio setup while holding the failsafe settings they want, ie. full brake, straight ahead on the steering etc.

WRONG it does NOT have a low battery failsafe. I know first hand. Its also on there website.

"Does this system offer any built in failsafe for battery failure?
No. The telemetry system, coming soon, will offer the ability to monitor battery voltage in real-time."

Thats very interesting PSC. Every one of mine will go into failsafe when the receiver battery voltage drops, both setting here in the den or out at the track. Now if you have battery failure like a lead breaking I don't think it would work.

When my battery goes dead it starts to freak out. The throttle servo started glitching makeing my buggy take off. Luckily it took off into some real tall grass so no damage was done to it.

PSC, where do you have your failsafe set and how did you set it. Everyone that I have seen do anything like this did not have the failsafe reset during a secondary bind after the radio was set up.

Any up dates on the DX3 pros or cons? I need a new radio system as the FM one I bought a year ago has been nothing but problems and I sure do not need any more problems.

I'd stay away from the DX3, the Spektrum is great, but the radio is lacking. I reccomend a module based radio such as the Hitec SRX. You can install a spektrum system in it, and it only costs around $20 more. For that extra $20 you get ALOT more radio.
