I'm now beginning the search of material for my new project. I wan't to scratchbuild a Westland Lysander MK III, probably in a scale 1/5 (could perhaps move up to a 1/4 - let's see).
I have tried to find good material on the internet, but don't find enough material to:

- Settle on a specific plane
- 3 view drawings for detailing
- Drawings to get the contour of the plane

Let it be said. I Haven't scratchbuild any plane before and do not know if i will suceed in doing it. But, spirit is high and with the right help from you guys i am sure i will be able to pull it through.

Please post any little bit of material that you could imagine would be of interrest for me.
(Planes, processes, histories etc.)

If you know a specific plane with a cute history to it, please inform me.

Lets see where it goes. Intention is that i will spend approx one year collecting material and starting out the construction of the plans. At an internal milestone meeting (in my head) i will then decide if i should put more time and money into the project.

Please help!!!!! I wan't to succeed

A year to collect the material? Wow, I'll bet you could shoot off an email to the Smithsonian or a couple of British Warbird Museums and ask for anything they have on the plane. Some might have at least a set of 3-views. What you need are the former stations (slice the fuselage like a sausage and the slices are the former stations) and the wing ribs. There are a number of programs that will let you loft your ribs based on the desired airfoil and the wing span. Easier would be to locate a set of already drawn plans...check with Bob Holman Plans, Jerry Bates Plans...don't know if Ziroli Plans does a "Lizzy" or not...unique plane to be sure and a worthy project, I think....good luck.

Ok, The P-12 strafing aircraft was built and flown when the Brits were still worried that the Huns were going to come calling across the beaches of Dover.

Although i'm momentarily stationed in Germany i am an full blown Dane. So i'm on your side guys.
I have made my own one man army invasion.

Status: offline 		I got a Lysander kit from Bob Holman together with the plans. Not all that difficult to build, but the plans (and therefore the airframe) is built around a box without access to the radio gear. The firewall and front formers have large holes in them (lightening?). You carve those massive wheel spats from built up blocks AFTER the wheels are mounted.

The difficulty I had (and why the plane got dumpstered) is that I didn't know how to hinge the flaps and ailerons properly - I do now. You need to recess the pivot point deep into the ailerons and flaps. Typical of scale evidently. Wing mounting is NOT scale, but probably would be a good candidate for carbon fiber tubes for a non-separable wing.

All in all its a good plan IF you plan ahead for some kind of hatch to get to the radio equipment. Fuse is big enough to get your hand in. I got mine built and it IS impressive - kinda like a buzzard waiting to pounce.

I'd build another one since it would be a lot easier the next time with what I gained from the first build.

I did a 411 search for him and came up with a number of K Gross in Burlington. It'll need a phone call to determine if one of them is right though.

Another idea is to google different variations of the Burlington club (Burlington Flying Club, Burlington RC, etc) and see if they have a website. More than likely he belongs to that club.
