I finally got my computer working again.

The part looks great so far and it definitely looks allot stronger than the JT one.
The JT tower does fit fairly snug on the diff case.

What about adding a third set of holes on top to make fitting longer shocks a little easier?
With the current shock hole arrangement it is hard to fit T-Maxx length shocks. There are some 1/10 scale stadium shocks and 1/8 scale buggy shocks that will work but Maxx shocks are easier to get and easier to get parts for. Just a thought.

I hear ya, but I personally dont want them any higher than they are, what about some extra holes inside of the ones already there instead of on top.

Rolland…

That can be done… but I think you may make the bending/braking problem worse. A longer tower has more leverage. If we were to design a long tower, able to hold Tmaxx shocks… I think we would have to support it some how.

Azzman…

What do you mean… “add some extra holes inside of the ones already there” ?? There really isn’t any room to add holes between the existing holes. If you want to draw a quick sketch, and post it… it would be helpful.

Either way… if there are any changes… the entire group needs to agree on them by Saturday afternoon. Otherwise, I’m putting the posted tower into production. (with the correction to the mount)

You are probably right about the taller towers. It was just a thought like I said. Maxx shocks can be used we just don't get the full travel of the shock with the JT towers or the stock towers.
That was really the only possible modification to the design that I could think of.

The part really does look good and allot more substantial than the JT towers.

I just meant instead of having 5 holes in a row make it say, seven, that gives you more choices for possibly longer shocks.

Im happy with the towers as they are - I will probably be drilling the front one tho, as I had to with my JT one. I think thats just me tho, as I am using 1/8 buggy shocks and its the only way i can get the front at the height I want it, without limiting the shocks travel. I didnt bother adding the holes I need to the drawing as I figured others wouldnt need them - pic so u can see what I mean.

I really dont mind if the extra holes are done for me, or if I add them myself.

OK… Since people want longer shocks… I’ll give it to you. I didn’t want to add to the height… so I tucked the new holes in close. And… since Poor Judgment likes them in toward the center… that’s where they are going. That will also take some of the apparent tension off a spring that was meant for a heavier truck.

In this final revision… I added a bit more thickness around the middle, for better strength. And, I raised the bottom that rests on the diff housing.

So… it’s up to you guys… IT’S TIME TO VOTE !!!! is it going to be the new one with the extra holes, and the thicker center… OR… the one before, with only the fix to the bottom to make room for the diff and a revised logo?? (remember, the logo will have the points rounded so it won’t be that close to the edge. And the "A" and the "O" are not cut threw the entire way)

Edit... OK... I lied. I added two more holes on each side (in case some one saw my earlier drawing)

Dr Honda, my vote goes to the new one with the extra holes, its a bloomin work of art, and just what the dr ordered and should be able to handle extra length shocks especially if people drill an extra hole in there lower arm and push the bottom shock mount out a bit wider. You rock man.

New one. That is one sweet part. You are the man... I might just have to try some different shocks now that I have this.

Yup, looks great to me. Means I can get some front buggy shocks on the FF which is a very good thing!

By extras thickness do you mean the width between the double ended arrows? From about the double ended arrow down the tower is sandwiched between the diff case halves and can not be any thicker. The extra width is a good idea. I personally am not concerned about any extra weight and I am pretty sure the others aren't either. Strength is the main issue.

You second design will add allot of flexibility for shocks and if it doesn't take any strengh away it gets my vote.

Hi Guys,

Rolland… Yes, sorry… I meant that width was added.

OK… that’s a majority for the new tower… so, I’ll start cutting today. I’ll post back tonight with the finished product.

Hi Guys,

Well… They’re almost done. I would have had them all done today… but after making the first few… I found a problem with my program. Anyway… I fixed the problem, and continued with the run. I should have the rest done tomorrow. I’ll also get shipping prices for everyone who sent me an address tomorrow.
