Status: offline 		Here in the Gulf Coast area (Houston) a lot of us use Ritch's Brew. Red Ritch and son Randy make some good stuff in all the popular flavors. Clean, packaged great, runs good. We can say that about a lot of other fuels on the market and I'm sure everyone has an opinion. We can also hear if someone had a bad experience............ I hear about these experiences but what they won't tell you that they leaned the hi speed needle down too far or they don't know how to set the low end for a good transition.

I like the price for what I pay for my fuel and some of the others are a little or a lot more than what I buy. On the other side of the coin, I fly a lot of gasoline/oil fueled motors and I hear names like Echo, Amsoil, Stihl, Lawnboy, Belray, etc. All claim to be the best. Here in Texas we have a little facility in San Antonio called Southwest Research. They do all kinds of oil tests and don't really care what your name is......... (Exxon-Mobil, Texaco, Royal Purple, "Joe Bob's Special", etc.) Once they give you the performance numbers of an oil that is out there in the marketplace (that you swear you'll never change from!), you'd change to something else in a heartbeat when you find out how really sorry it truly is!

I see someone has said "alcohol is alcohol" and I'm pretty much in agreement as long as the ingredients are clean and of highest quality. Glow fuel is glow fuel? I think somebody could start civil war on that subject! Every manufacturer of glow fuel is looking for the best possible OIL they can get to mix into their fuel because at the end of the day, it will all come down to protecting the motor with the best lubrication possible.

I work for a company here in The Woodlands that distributes various kinds of air-conditioning lubricants and additives. We are best known for and automotive a/c additive called ICE 32. You can get it installed at any Firestone store.(Yeah, I'm the "ICE 32 ICEMAN" when nobody can remember my name!) The base oil in all our additives is THERMOLUBE. I've put this in glowfuel as an additive. I have also mixed it 50:1, 75:1 and 100:1 with regular 87 octane gasoline to run in my 3W's Quadras, DA's, etc. It does what I want: mixes well, runs clean, cleans carbon deposits, and oh yeah.......... I pick up a few hundred RPM's along the way.

A friend of mine passed away some time ago over in Florida. His name was Gene Cantrell. Old Gene called THERMOLUBE his "Wonder Oil." He raced Sport 240's with large bore Moki/Marks, Super Tigers, BGX's, etc. He claimed he wasn't much of a precision pilot but he "sure as hell picked up some speed" when he used his "Wonder Oil!" I really miss him telling me about his exploits! The point is, I let him try the oil and he came up with his own unabashed results. We are in a position soon where we will release some product to put into the hands of modelers for evaluation. I'm going to do it through RC Universe and will start a thread when its released for some feedback. Look for it soon. It will be here in the fuels section of gas motors. In the mean time, go burn some fuel!
