Just a little update for you guys.
Today i got the following done:
All L bends and EZ link connectors on
I also got all the control surfaces fixed (Small on ground trimming.)
I got some EPA done also.

I went to the LHS hobby shop i hate tonight because the good one was closed and got the following:
2 11 by 5 APC Props
The EZ links
Wheel collars.

Just wanted to update everyone. So far i am very impressed with this plane. Oh i almost forgot, I made a neat little compart for my radio in my flight box fit for my radio perfectly all foamed up too. I also had to put all the tools in the box too.

Ok, I will give the review now.

In one word i will decribe how much i like the plane:

Freaking Awsome

I am VERY impressed with the difference in this plane from my trainer. It was a LITTLe more twitchy, but not too much. I was going to go ahead and get checked off after the third flight, but due to one of the engine backplate screws coming off, we called it a day and I'm heading back out tommrow.

the landings were slow, if not slower than a trainer, and it is a little harder to fly, but I will get used to it. I did one snap roll and this thing can Really Snap. Very tight and violent.

Overall This plane is a great step up if you want a little something between your high and low wing. The speed is a bit more on it too. I flew with a O.S. 40 LA and an 11 by 4 prop and it was plenty of power. Not for it to be a rocket.

One more thing, I Perfected my take offs today. I learned to get it off the ground and let off the elevator. I was holding it before.

The club is an awsome place to sit around and talk errm i mean fly. I met alot of nice guys there. I am going back tommrow if conditions let me. I can't Wait.

(Ken, I still have the silly smile on my face, I feel like i just soloed even though i already have. I am so utterly happy with this plane)

Oh, Only one bad thing about this plane is the covering. It is not thats great. In a month or so i will end up replacing it.

ARF's are the answer man...Ha..Ha...I haven't built anything out of a kit since I was about 13. Good looking pics of the stik. Looks like it went together really well.

Yep, Finially got to fly it without being on a buddy box. Man, On highrates i can do multiple rolls. And the Snaps on high rates.. Oh the snaps... I got about 3 or 4 flights out of it without the box today, and i was going to get another but the TX antenna broke.. I really like this plane, and a 40 LA is MORE than enough power

Funny thing happened today.

I tightened the engine up and forgot to put the muffler back on, and when i was idling to the runway it sounded fine, after i got off the ground it was REAL hesitate. I found out that the muffler was only hardly being held on by one screw. I did a lap and landed it ASAP. I think i did a roll with the screws and they stayed in amazingly. I landed it and then just tightened the screws up and went right back up.

This is a GREAT plane to fly. I did a lap or so of inverted today.

I watched Chad fly this weekend and he picked it up very quickly with this plane. He is soloing and doing very well for the time he has flown it. Chad is relatively new to R/C but seems to be flying well beyond his time in the hobby/sport. I am also glad to see a 14 year old young man active on RCUniverse seeking advise and opinions as well as active in this hobby. Keep up the good flying Chad.

I just FINISHED mowing the yard in this heat. As several have said, the L bend/EZ Link combo is a great alternative, IF you have a screw on clevis on the other end to use for fine adjustments.

As FlyBoy suggested, once you master the tri-gear, it's not difficult to convert to a taildragger. Then you have the advantage of using a plane you alrady know to learn the different charistics of the two configurations. That's the way I went to prepare for my GP Super Stearman. Just about any "Stikker" will tell you they love the plane and keep one around for "recreation" flying.

I've been looking back at some of the last posts for this thread and it seems to me that they have gotten way off of topic. I feel this subject has been covered as best as it's going to be. I'm closing out this thread.
