Just wanted to get some info on it before I bring it home.

any building problums, weak spots, flying issues?

i'm going to be using my FX os 91 and thinking of a 14X6 prop if it fits.

would this be a good set up for a succuessful first flight?

I had one and liked it. I used a Magnum 91XLS with 14X6 and it was a good flying plane, untill I dumb thumbed it and snapped into the ground from knife edge turning. Too much elevator throw, which I knew about and had not yet adjusted it down. I just figured I would fly smart enough and not give extreme elevator input. And I was real good at it untill.... whoops, splat! It is a lot of engine for that plane, and you will find yourself flying partial throttle except for vertical, and the vertical is unlimited.

Learn from my misfortune and keep the elevator throw in check. You will like this one, and hopefully you will enjoy it for a longer time than I had mine.

My experience with them is that they like to land with a little speed and need to be flown all the way to touch down

A friend of mine has one... He has an Evo 1.00 NX in his.. It has not been flown yet but I looked it over and from what i could see the airframe looked great! The only thing stopping him from flying it is engine problems

well I almost have it together, having a new house and a pregnet wife doen't speed up the building process but i'm hoping to have her in the air this weekend.

I'm going to be running a 16x6 master airscrew prop on my OS FX 91 do you think it's going to be to much prop for the engine?

in the book it said I could run up to a 17X6.

I dont think a 14 would do so good only cause the cowl is so wide not to much air would get past the front.

I'm also running standard servos on all but the rudder that one i'm running a futaba 3010 high torque. since the elevator on this plane runs two servos I'm sure it's going to be strong enough.

I maidened mine last weekend. Supertiger 90 for power. Digital servo's all round. I have only had three flights in it but so far its looking good. I personally would not go smaller than about a .75 two stroke, a .90 is a perfect match. Yes the elevator is sensitive so be carefull. The only real problems I had was that the wing brace was a real, real loose fit in the wing. I had to add some wood to the brace to make it fit better. Also when the wing was together only 3 of the pre drilled wing bolt holes lined up. A minor repair fixed this.
Check out the big thread about this model in the ARF section.

I have one with an OS61 which is great as long as you are not doing 3D, which the plane is not designed for. It is a superb flyer, land like a dream and will do anything you ask of it, within reason.

Well I got to take it out this weekend, but it didn't do so well. the wind caught it just about the time I was 6 feet from the deck and smack . it messed up the engine mount and front pretty good. nothing thats not repairable but it still sucks so crash on the first flight.

other then that it did pretty good I wasn't having a easy time with it at first but the wind was a little bit more then I should have tried to fly in. mostly casue it was new to me. I would fly my stick in wind like that and it wasn't nothing but this plane was a little harder for me. But I'll get some time and get it fixed up I dont think it's going to take much just time.
