coomarlin -> What are fuel dots? (10/9/2002 3:24:31 PM)

I've been considering getting one of those DuBro quick-fill fuel valves to add to my next plane but I'm hearing that some of those have problems with leaking. Other people are talking about fuel dots. Haven't been able to find out anything about them. Can someone fill me in?

Coomarlin, a fuel dot is a small fitting to which you can attach a fuel line, usually from the third line in your fuel tank, and screws or glues to the cowl or fuselage of your model.

You can also use a fuel dot with the "Miracle Y" fueling system. The key item is that a fuel dot is not a valve and has a plug the closes the fill/drain line. This is critical for those engines that use a pressuruzed fuel system, e.g. YS.
