The single system is working nicely.... someone has to do the R&D on these things.... I guess thats us!

As long as you make the flat spot small and precise it should not slip....locktite usually helps as well.... so far I have never had one slip. I would not use one on a control surface!

Working on the nose strut now....will post more pics soon.

I ran 13.4 with the Jett 90 on the ground running ritch. I can get it up to about 14.2 with a 12x7 at max RPM static but I didn't want to push it since I had the head bolts come loose. On a 11x7 it toped 15.5 static. I will probably run the 11 x 7 for a tank or two to make sure everything is in alinement and running smoth, then I will go with the standard 12x6.

Just remember on the f_16 the gear rotate forward into the air stream. I experimented with different setups that worked great on the ground but failed in the air. There is a lot of force required to push them against the air. what kind of servo did you use? How much torque?

It is a Hitec HS-75BB retract servo... has 92oz of torque... may use 6volt power and boost it to 114. The nose gear is assisted by the relative wind but the mains are working against it. Friction is at a minimum in the linkages. Will not know how well it works until I actually fly it.

Definately do not want to retract the gear at high speeds! Will be sure to retract the gear at a slower speed..... if it goes up it should come down.

I just flew my F-16 doday. The CG was about 8 back. I empty the tank and still made a good landing. I am using flaperons but only used about 5 degrees down. I did not want to over do it because there is no mention about flaperons in previous docs. I think about 10 degrees would be better. The flaperons did not do any thing bad to the flight characteristics. She is flying great now. Here are some pics.

Very nice touch on the cockpit! I have flown mine now approx. 20 times and it gets better and better. I have graduated to nearly full flaperons now (full down). I started like you said with just a few degrees and have put more and more each time. With about 25%, it seems to do the best. Any more than that it is too much drag and feels like its going to tip stall at any moment. Of course, alot of that is me trying to get it to land really slow. Another good tip if you are flying off of pavement, when the wheels touch on landing, push full down elevator and it works great as a speed break putting all that weight on the wheels and the whole friction increase law begins working. What size pilot are you using and where did you get him? Looks very nice!

Thanks,
the pilot is 1/9th jet pilot from centuryjet.com $24.95 a bit pricey but what the hec. The dash is a scaled down picture of a real f-16 cockpit. I made the seat from scrap. I am adding some more detail to the dash and seat. here are some pics you can use.

msweeten, nice!

did you have to touch up the finish of your plane?

i got mine last week and the finish is not that great, especially the seams on the fuse are terrible... the edges are jagged, will have to sand and retouch the paint

i will post some pics soon...

BTW i wanted to use B&D air retracts, but after looking at the fit i changed my mind.

i am looking now at the spring-air 705 or the new robarts econo line (has anyone try to install the robarts?)

msweeten,

Looking good! That extra work on the cockpit really makes it look sharp !!

Is the engine running well for you ?

I did have to do some work on the seams. don't use sandpaper. The rough edges are do to the glue. Just use an razor to trim the edeges. It will take most of the rough edges out without the need to repaint. If you cut to deep and scratch the edge then just tough it up as needed. If you use sandpaper the entire edge will need to be repainted. By the way watch your fingers on the rough edges!! I cut myself more than once checking the smothness. On the matter of the retracts the spring airs or Robarts work well. I used the custom retracts from Cemark. My JETT 90 is running good now. I am taking it easy on the engine for now because IT IS HOT in my part of the world right now. The last time I had it out the temp was 97 at 11:00 am. The engine ran well and will pull the F-16 straight up doing rolls untill you can bearly see it. The plane is doing about 120 with lettle effort on a 12X6. I think I will try a 11X7 to work the engine in for a couple of tanks.

i will try to cut the seam, but at some places it is already cut too deep, will have to fill and touch up as you suggest... see pics[image][/image]

What a plane ha! I got rid of the tsi 90 junk and put a jett 90 with a11-7 spinning at 14,700 and wow does it go. It flys like my Y/A df F-16. I left it at 7.5 for the cg. Rotates and lands great off the grass.

Hi:

I already have the older .61 version. Is this more scale like?
