Well, I ran the F16 with ST90 and Jett muffler with an 11x7 and 8 this weekend.
Not much difference between that and the 12".
I wanted to run the 11" on the ST before doing it on the JETT 90, in case it was very different.
(Ive just got used to landing jets)

Vertical doesnt suffer that much, takeoffs not that much longer, getting the plane moving on the ground takes a little more though.

Jett 90L is now installed with a 11x7 on it for now, should go up on Saturday.

My F16 has 14 flights on it now, after the first three being bang ups and the nose ripped off.

Finally after 14 months, my project will be complete with the JETT. , and man am I having fun now!

Cheers to Cermark on a fantastic plane! I have the F18 in a box waiting for servos and Rx, any sign of the F15?

Well the Jett had flights on Saturday and Monday last weekend and this week.

Jett 90 performed well and never died on me.
Results
Saturday, 11x7 APC, running peak at 14 000 was slightly lower than expected, seeing as an 11x6 APC peak break in was 15500, I can only put this down to the heavy spinner on the Cermark now the engine in on the plane.
3 flights, rich er for the first 2, the third was getting right and was about as quick as the ST90 with a 12x7 on.

Monday, I put an 11x9 APC on now the engine had ruin a bit more, peak also seemed to be 14000, so maybe the engine is getting some nioce run in time.
Going quite fast bu nothing much mpore than before,,,,,,pretty quick though!!!!!
2nd flight I bounced the landing after doing 2 loverly touch and goes, stalled the plane and put her in on the nose. Damn I was so dissapointed now the project is finished.

Damage not bad at all, didnt get to put the GPS in on the next flight, so no speed measure, got some good pics though of her in the air and landing, will post them.

Yeah... looks great. Nice plane too.
Hey Luds.... you gonna be at the field this weekend?
Worked on the F-16 engine this week with mixed results. I finally decided that the needle valve was getting too much vibration and that was causeing air to get by the O ring on the valve so I took a needle valve assembly I had lieing around from an old evolution engine and mounted it to the front of the fire wall in the engine compartment. It fit perfect between the firewall and the backplate of the engine. With that setup, I finally got the engine to rev over 12000 RPM and it seems to hold RPM better. Ran a full tank through it and it seemed to hold up after inital adjustment of the needle valve. Anxious to get her up and really wring her out. By the way, I found out when I got home that the landing that you said was too hot but looked good to me, was not without a mishap. Seems the mounting wood for the front gear was cracked after that landing and that cheap white glue had let go all around the joints. Not a real problem though as I epoxied a pice of wood on each side of the brackets and also epoxied all of the joints. That's a tough spot to try and reenforce as there is very little space between the bracket and the fiberglass air scoop on the underside of the jet. Only about an 1/8 th of an inch clearance. Remember I don't have the luxury of removeing the belly scoop to work on the underside. It all has to be done from the topside canopy opening. Should hold up pretty good now though.

Robert,
You lucky dog. Wish I had that much runway within a reasonable drive.

Glad to hear your bird will fly again. Keep at it - it only gets better.

Regards,
James

Hey Micky. Not sure if I'll be doing much flying this weekend. At Best Late Sunday. I've broken all three of my landing gear mounts. I glue them back to gether with epoxy and put a Light ply backer behind them. Never broke the same on twice. I hope that's not a yet.

Welcome to the club. Went out Saturday and had some really bad luck. First flight lasted about 5 minutes when the engine started to sag again. Darn thought I had that fixe!! Brought her in for a decent landing, and retuned the engine. Second flight she seemed to be doing better when all of a sudden the engine quit with no warning just over the end of the field heading toward the cornfield at about 100 feet up. I immediately set her up for a landing, but by this time I was half way over the cornfield. I made a wide turn to set up the approach, but that bled off a lot of speed so I put her into a slight dive to pick up some more airspeed. Leveled off at about fifty feet up but was still slowing down quite a bit. This baby does not glide!! Ended up puting her in just shy of the barbwire fence betweend the road in the cornfield and the fence. Ripped out all three gears, but the fuselage is un harmed. Now I will have to rebuilt all three gear mounts!! Bummer. The plane looks so nice flying though that I can't just give up on her, but with the large P-47 in the wings and a big Cessna 310 on the way, I don't know how I'm going to find time to fix this one. Oh well s__t happens. At laest I didn't end up like Dave Menendez. His big plane disentegrated in mid air just shy of the power lines. The wings just folded!! Took us 45 minutes to find all the pieces worth salvageing. Basically the plane is a loss, but we recovered all the radio gear except for one servo and we found the cowl with the engine.
See you at the field.

it'll glide forever with the gear UP, i dead sticked mine many times from just having way too much fun and sucking the tank dry. you should never have the gear deployed on a dead stick till you KNOW you got the runway made.
