.......now offer it for (I think) a hefty price, €375,-- without shipment cost!!

Great Hobbies here in Canada still shows them in stock. It may be cheaper for you, even after shipping and Duty.

Hi to everybody. Does someone have the assembly manual of this plane (in PDF file), or where can I get it. Thanks for your responses.

I just picked up on of these planes used but still like new, and when I bought it the guy told me that it was a 1.20 size but after looking around the internet alot I'm finding out there jsut isn't a 120 size so to get to the question I had will the YS 120 I bought at the same time have enough power to fly this plane? or should I sell the engine before it's started for the first time?

I have a YS140L in mine and its marginal on the power side. Wish I would have gone with the OS 160 and a pipe

The 1.20 will fly it, but not with a lot of gusto. If you are hoping to hover or do any other "3D" moves, you will need more power. If you just plan to do basic aerobatics and don't need a 1:1 (or better) power:weight ratio, you can fly it with the 1.20.

there is another problem with the 1.20 ...how will you balance the plane with so little weight in the nose ....?

My Giles and OS1.60 balanced with the wing only 1/4 inch back from the most forward posistion and the tank over the spar. I had to put my battery up behind the engine mount, but that's it. I'm sure that the 1.20 would balance out with the wing in the aft posistion and if you really needed to the tank could be put up front.

That being said I wouldn't want anything less than the 1.60. -Greg

About the OS 120,
I really don't think the OS 120 is good idea for this plane,
extremely lack of power from this engine for this plane.
I have the OS 160 on it, and the 160 altough its over power, its not extremley over powered (enough to get out of hovers),
so the 120 would be a bad idea.
Also the price difference between these engines is not signifact.

Guy.

Well with that said anyone want a brand new YS 120????

I really didn't know what I bought until I got it home. I was told it was a 1.20 size and figured the 120 would be a good motor for it.
I really wanted to fly something with a gas motor simply because I don’t like the mess and expense of glow. I'm thinking of running a 26cc would that be enough? or should I look for a 40cc. the last guy that owned the plane had a 1.80 saito on it and really liked the set up but I'm just willing to pay that much for a glow engine.

You haven't said what kind of flying you want to do. If you want to be able to do some sport flying but don't need a greater than a 1:1 power:weight ratio, then the 26cc will be fine. If you want to do 3D, hovering, strong climb-outs, etc., then you should go with the 40 cc. I have a 40cc BCMA SPE engine in mine, and the performance is outstanding.

The Giles does 3D very well on an MVVS 26cc and pipe. The pipe is the key to good 3D performance with the MVVS/Evolution 26cc. It turns the same rpm as an OS 1.60 on an APC 18x6W prop.
A larger gas engine will eliminate the need for a pipe.
