Okay, not sure what the stats are on those servos, but you do need some decent torque servos in order to keep those big elevators from fluttering. Anything less than about 100 oz./in. is probably not going to be enough. Otherwise, I would check for slop. Move the elevator with the radio on and see if you can move it more than about 1/8" with light pressure. If you can, there may be a control linkage issue or perhaps your servos are too weak or have slop in them from use.

Dave, thanks for the reply, I put a straight edge on it and you can see the front of the hatch is warped. The location of the mounting lugs will not pull the aft end down and hold it in place.

I'm still looking into options!!

Help with Graphics included in the kit.

It appears there is a carrier to be used to attached to the graphics sheets to lift them and place them on the plane. I could use to guidance, I have not used this type setup before. How do you attach the carrier to the graphics, is there a proceedure, I cannot find anything in the manuel.

thanks.

Jeff

thanks P-Diddy for the reply, the servos are new and have 142oz @ 6V stardard metal gear. But they have slop so I am waiting for new digitals with more torq. Im hopin this will fix the flutter.

RCWI - A little slop in the head of a new servo is normal, and I don't think getting digitals will fix the problem. Can you take a picture of your elevator linkages so that we can see how you have it all set up?

Unless you're an expert I'd suggest that you apply the graphics wet instead of dry. The use of a commercially available vinyl graphics application fluid or Windex will help to float the graphic on the plane's surface until it is properly positioned. I use my fingers first then a piece of balsa to squeegee the liquid from underneath the graphic.

That carrier that you mentioned is the clear transfer tape or application tape that you peel from it's backing and stick it on top of the graphic and use it to lift the graphic from it's own backing. You then apply the graphic to the wet surface of the model with the application tape. Next step is to squeegee it then peel off the application tape.

Caution, some of those application tapes are so excessively sticky that you may not be able to remove them from the model without lifting the graphic. I try to reduce the stickiness before applying it to the graphic by rubbing my hand on the sticky side or sticking it to a window and peeling it off again.

A commercially available application fluid called Rapidtac, http://www.rapidtac.com/ , has several videos that show how to apply graphics wet but none of them involve model planes. Note: I have never used this product.

RCWI ...Another 2 cent opinion, The servo arms may be flexing under load, as the top of the ball link is fairly high compared to the centerline of the rotation of the arm itself. And the other thing is that any time you get flutter on a surface, you should consider gap sealing the hinge lines.- both aileron and elevator. Again, just something to think about.

It is just me, or are more people having problems opening this webpage:

http://www.ohiomodelplanes.com/giles/

Also some time ago I tried it, and it never fully loads the page.

Canopy Issue: My canopy is warped to the point that when installed there is a little more than 1/8" of a gap between the aft end and where it meets up with the turtle deck. I'm curious if any one else has had this issue and how did you correct it?

My first thought is to put a screw through the Canopy into the turtle neck which means I will have to drill a hole into the Canopy to access the screw etc. Any other thoughts?

Thanks

Jeff

Try gluing some small blocks to the bottom corners of the frame and then with the canopy pushed down flat where you want it, drill holes through the side and secure it with screws that way. Any pics?
