YS 1.40 is perfect motor. You be around 10.25 with it maybe less. That will be a rocket.

Some more pics thanks to Chris Maier. There is a nice shot of the canister channel and some other areas. We'll get some pics of the floating wing and servo placement too. The h-stab is attached by CF tube as well. The landing gear plug in and can easily be removed and replaced without any tools. I expect to see this system in many more planes in the futre.

This ain't your Daddy's Giles

I'm not sure what Chris has on his. The Ultra RC test model was flown with Brison 2.4. The OMP company plane has a YS 1.40.

The plane is so light you have lots of room for lots of choices while still keepin mainting a light wing loading.

Hey, i've seen those pics before.. haha, o wait , i took them...

Yes, i have a OS. 1.60 FX in it with the Slimline pitts muffler. and this thing is amazing, i have like 20 or so flights on it, and am just loving it. You can do so much crap with it, that you can only dream to do with a foamy!

Thanks,

Chris

O, BTW.... The picture of the Red Extra behind the Giles. I thought was a neat idea. That is my 43% RadioCraft Extra 330LX, and the 29% Giles next to it.

The Giles is a perfect size plane, not to big, not to small.. and flys like a foamy in 3D ways, but is as stable and flys pattern like a 40%er.

An MVVS gasser on a pipe would be very cool on this airplane! How long is the pipe tunnel Dion? I have this power setup on an Ultra Stick Lite that comes in at 11 pounds and it is a hoot. I've been looking for something more scale than a "stick" for some time now.

David the channel is not long enough for the MVVS pipe, that suckers as long as a baseball bat, if that's the one your talking about. This channel was made for a canister or sport pipe. I'll get the exact dimensions but you'll prolly have to engineer something for that pipe if you go that route. I don't have Giles with me here in NY, but I'll be going out to Dayton to fly it in a week or so.

Hitec 645's or 5625's are good servos for the plane.
