I wanted the evolution as well but could not find one! where did you get your's from? I was going to use the brisson 2.4 but decided on the mvvs 1.6 with the tuned pipe. The engine and pipe are on the way right now and will be here before I get the plane I will have to modify the fuse to fit the pipe not sure just how yet. Any ideas on this be greatly appreciated

Hey guys,
I've looked over all the post about the Giles 202UL and am really considering getting one. I am currently flying a Lanier 540 edge which I use for IMAC (It does not 3D too heavy) and am looking for a replacement. I have an os1.60FX w/bisson muffler and some HS-5475 standard digitals that can go in it. So here are my questions.
1) Is the Giles really within the 10% legal rule for IMAC?
2) I know its reported that this plane flies fairly precise but would it really be competitive in IMAC at the basic and sportsman level? I end up flying in lots of wind and am concerned about this plane being to light.
3) Will my HS-5475 servos work for the Giles?

Chris I've seen the video of you flying the Giles and am very impressed with your flying and with the airplane. I believe your video will really keep this plane sold out. Great work! I hope to someday be that good.

1) Yes it is IMAC leagal

2) YES ,EASY--most likely this is the best plane out there right now of this size for IMAC.

3) Fine with throws set up for IMAC sequence not Freestyle or 3D (at 20° max on elevator and ailerons) but not strong enough for decent rudder. Hitec does not recommend the X475 gear train on anything larger than 8 pounds. If you want to set this plane up for 3D, the cheapest way to do it is 645's all around--I would spend a bit more and go with 5625's or 5645's--Donald's has them for 47.50 ea to your door.

Yea you could most definately use this plane in IMAC at the lower levels and be competetive, but you have to remember the Bigger planes score better. I have personally flown the Unlimited sequence with this many times to actually practice instead of using my 40%, and it does an outstanding job. It seriously flys like a F3A plane. its crazy light, but penetrates the wind very well.

Conclusion : this plane is AWESOME for everything, period.

Hey Chris,
My local hobby shop said something about the planes being here some time this week. Do you know if there is any truth to that? Also do you think Futaba 3305 MG servos will be good for this plane. I know they won't be as fast as the ones you had in yours though.
Thanks,
Lee

STG and Hovermaster,

Thanks for the info on the IMAC questions. I will definitely be getting the Giles. I can upgrade my servos now and then be able to use those same servos later when I get a big gasser. The Giles should be a good way to get into a better performing plane while being kink to the pocket book.

Thanks again for the info.

I think another nice thing about it is that it will most likely fit into most autos.

You really dont have to use any type of crazy high speed/troque servo in this. I mean i used those Hitec 6975's just becuase they are insane and i think thats cool... it does how ever help to have fast servo's with a desent amount of torque ( 90oz + at no more than .2 sec ) The fast servo's help the precision flying, and the powerfull ones help with the full throttle parachutes and such.. haha BTW i have done full power parachutes and blenders with this plane.... I"ll tell you what, this thing is major strong...

Have fun,

Chris

MVVS 2.15 gasser with tuned pipe. Why? Because I have one and it pulls my 12lb profile with AUTHORITY. 5625's on ailerons, 5645's on elevators and 5945 on rudder on 6v 2400ma Li-ion w/regulator. Why? Because I have them. Also have a RCS 1.40 gasser, but that just wouldn't be any fun compared to the MVVS. Who knows, though.

Hola Fernando

No, estamos construyendo uno, yo te informo cuando este listo.
No, but we are working in it.
We are 7 flyer´s, and we go to fly at Guayabitos, 45 minutes form Vallarta, at municipal airport, 1100 mts. of run way near the ocean, nice place for fly.
