cenracer1, $20. Oh man thats the bargain of the century. Basically the truck is pretty solid from stock. The shock towers and steering plate are a bit soft as you have found out but they are upgradable using either Dynamite parts, GSs' own upgrades or if you fancy going all out, there are the Fioroni ones which are 6mm thick!! There should be some HCR bargains going at the moment as they have stopped making bits for the GS within the last few weeks so keep watching ebay! One thing I did find useful when setting up my truck was this article from GS. It details how the factory drivers set up their trucks. Enjoy the SUT mate, it is a great truck. http://www.gsracing.com/gsracing/teamgs/SUT%20team%20building.htm
PJ, sorry 'bout the hijack, I'll slink off back to the truggy forum now!!

8mm shafts??? man i didnt realise they were that big. i was just wondering if the bearings would fit tmaxx hubs, but no they wont then, nevermind.

did u say ultra lx shafts will work on the swift too? im forming an idea in my head... (Time Bandits anyone? sorry...)

didnt take mine out today due to excelling in the hide the alcohol games last night... but i did tidy up a few odds and ends and took some new pics for my gallery bit on here. hopefully i will hold back a bit tonight, and go get it dirty tomorrow, i must remember to glue those tyres on...

I'm not sure about the LX shafts but the MBX shafts are the same length. I only looked at buggy's with the pillow ball front suspension.
The front shafts on pretty much all of the buggy's with pillow ball suspension are within a couple of mm's of each other.

The RD Logics SHO buggy is the same thing as the PRP Swift.

Yeah mate, those wheels suit that truck down to the ground (literally!). The blue and gold aint too bad either, I've seen far worse believe me. I know there is never really such a thing as 'finished', but that truck must be near a stage where it is looking and running as you would like? Is there another project looming?

Middle diff truck? Resurrect the 4 wheel steer project? Maybe something completely different like a buggy or truggy?

yea, ill sort the centre diff one day... bored of spending money on the things for now. maybe a truggy in the future, but after todays run on the beach, im not sure i need anything else.

i keep loosing the 4wd tho... the rear centre drive cup keeps working off the shaft - yep threadlocked and tightened the grub screw as hard as i can... ill swap the shaft for a spare... maybe... its a lot of fun in 2wd, i just miss the front brake. but keeping it straight is erm... interesting.

those komodos work great on untouched hard, smooth sand, but once its all fluffed up from donuts etc and it gets loose, then they are rubbish, quite frankly! until then tho they turn really sharp, dont grip too hard and let me get the truck loose for some fun sand blasting of the local nosey kids. what i really need is some slightly longer pinned/spiked tyres that are low profile like the komodos. brilliant on the dirt tracks here tho, no complaints at all.

did i mention that this thing is fast...? ran today with the 14/18 cen steel bell... cant wait to see if it will pull 17/21 or even 21/25 genesis pinions... lol, it might, it might...

finally broke it tho, just pulled a rear tie bar screw out of the diff casing, was getting too dark anyway, so i bailed out. oh, i put some new shafts in the rear today too. the cen cv end is starting to show signs of wear now from the sand etc, as soon as they fail im going over to Rollands shaft mod/swap.
