and - are they the steel 47/44 spurs in there?

good luck with it, itll be bloody frightening!

I am going to try that rear mounted batt box, but for the time being, I will just strap a hump pack beside the fuel tank. The front will need some weight anyway I think.

The pipe is the stock one (I think) for the HPI savage. So it's actually for a .25 or whatever savages engine is.

I have the funfactor steel 47/44 in there now, I do have a spare set of the genesis 35 or whatever steel spurs sitting here too. Just incase it has too much low end. lol

the gearing should be good mate, those big wheels gear the final drive up loads. it might even be too tall for wheelies...

if u get the chance, could u measure the over length of the pipe for me? i expect its 165-175mm, but it looks pretty short on the pics.

id love to hear how u get on with those ratios and how they wear. its hard to get the option parts in the uk, so feedback is important to me man, as i have to ship em from the US... and something might be brewing here...

Glad to hear that

The pipe is 160 not including the little doodad that sticks out at the end for the mounting wire to go through.

Nice find, You don't see that many Funfactor parts on ebay. there were some magnum parts on there from a parted out one before, but I don't see any anymore...

Maybe I should be the guy parting them out.

I usually just order all my parts from custom rc cars, unless I see a super price on ebay. The rear batt box is only 5.99 form custom rc cars, and he usually gives a good deal and cheap shipping when I order a batch of parts.

Just saw this and had to post up a link. Not sure how many of you visit the CEN forum, but check out this .46 funfactor.
Watch the vid too!

Started breaking this thing in, and the power, even at low throttle, is WICKED!
Anywho, I noticed that it is considerably heavier than it was stock, but I don't have a scale.
So, I added some shocks on the rear just to see, and with soft springs and some 25 wt. fluid, it's gonna work out really well.

lol - that 46 is bonkers! bloody good going to get it in there too. i would be interested in its reliability with so many stock parts on there, if hes getting away with it, then all our efforts in mods have been for nothing!

Dustin - looking very solid there - any chance of a shot of the exhaust header side? tell u what - just spam a load of pics, show the rest of the guys just how easy it is to go completely mad with a poor funfactor!

I spotted ur concern in regard to ratios in the cen forum thread - just gimme a shout if u need any help there - ive tried em all i reckon ... but a single speed 15/44 combo works perfectly for me on maxx brick pins - just about keeps the fronts down and top speed around 45ish mph. mugen 3 shoe alloy clutch and 1.1 springs...

ps - well over 60 is possible with the right 2 speed gears and enough room/balls/tyre ballooning... have fun mate, and do try not to break anything... oh yea, lets have some feedback on those shafts with that motor too. i think im done now...excited for u tho, like a right child! lol

Here's a few more pics's
I don't know how PP man manages not to break those stock shafts... I broke a few with the stock engine.
You should see some of the stuff he's done with the genesis... WOW
Seriously, check out the vids and pics sections here http://cenracing.com/phpBB/
He has done wicked sick stuff with the genesis and nemesis. He even has a .46 that he has ground out and custom ported.

I really do plan on keeping the 2 speed, and I want to break 65 MPH if I can. I have on year of college left, so I am pretty poor at the moment, but once that's over, I am to break 75 MPH with this truck. lol. Mybe a modded OS .30, or the .46 wtih a 2 speed and high gearing.

Would definately be fun to drag race some onraod cars then though.

Was looking at my genesis the other day, just got it a few weeks back, and I was noticing the cantilever shock system for the top shocks...
I can't very well fit 4 shocks on the front because there isn't room being that the turnbuckles move due to the steering and they would hit the shocks. But if I was to install a cantilever system(or whatever it is they call it) on the front, I could run 3 shocks up front and 4 on the rear. Might lok cool, and take away some of the stress on the 2 puny CEN shocks.
Force = Area x pressure right? so If you double the area of the shock pistons(add 2 more) you then half the pressure on them, and you have half the chance of a shock blowout on a heavy landing.

You can see on my exhaust system, I have the header mounted to the chassis witha bent coathanger wrapped around and soldered on. I need to do something nicer than that, but I tried migging it wtih no luck. I ran a good flow of CO2/Argon gas mixture and I tried standared wire, stainless wire, and aluminum wire, and they all would just kill the coathanger even on low heat settings and nothing stuck to the copper.....
THen I bent another piece of coathanger for the exhaust front mount.

Oh, and those shafts... STRONG as could be, The stock ones I can bend by hand, but these ones are extremely strong, and they are slimmer than the tmaxx ones wtih all that plastic, and they are a full 8mm all the way along.

I've kept a running list of things I've upgraded/modified in my RCU Profile...

STS .28
CT5 engine mounts
HPI BB Tuned pipe
"custom" header
PRP swift shafts, Drive cups, and hubs
ofna 125cc fuel tank
Cen threaded alum. front shocks
Steel spur gears

imex romulins
ofna 17mm hex's
magnum front bumper
ARO shock towers
lunsford titanium turnbuckles
stainless linkage
Nova Racing 3 shoe alum. clutch,

OH, and I was going to ask if you have tried a genesis clutch bell and pinions? I though I'd read somewhere that someone had, but it was too big.

I had my bell off my genesis the other day and was looking, and it looks that if you werer to raise the engine up a bit(higher mounts)
It would be possible...

i only looked at the genesis setup in the lhs, it was that big i laughed it off without offering it up... if uve got the bits, then give it a shot. not sure the bell will clear the brake seat will it?

I'll give it a try in the next few days. I think I have a spare engine plate, so I can stack 2 to give it a bit more height.
Plus, I ground a bit off my brake seat when I was running the Genesis spurs. The spurs were so much smaller, I couldn't get the mesh tight enough without the flywheel hitting the brake seat.
