forget all that - the 11t works wonders on it... mind u its that alloy one thats so hard to get hold of here... gonna have to go for a single speed setup with the ofna 11/15t bell i think.

Might be worth having a look in the buggy forum to see what they are running.

yea, i posted in the truggy thread in the mt forum, they know their stuff, dunno if they care about a cen mt enough to reply tho.

that 11t really does make it fly tho! instant flippability! i did rescuff both the shoes and the bell tho, it is freaking the diffs out a bit as it squirms around looking for traction .

rounded the head of the 2 speed adjustment grub screw.... gotta get another 2 speed clutch - £10 is the best i have found on ebay so far, from an mt, so the spring might work ok. 2nd is gonna be very frightening i think... will have to wait for the 11/15 ofna/ho bao bell tho. maybe get a 12/16 too, see if it hooks up without flipping so easily. thats if the ofna pinions line up ok, or will they screw onto the cen bell with some mods...? we will see.

I reckon they will line up fine, I have noticed the similarities between the HPI clutch bell and the CEN one, thats why I immediately thought about single speed for my S25 CEN. Let me know how you get on, all these hurdles and snags are gonna make it nice and easy when I start my project!!! lol

yea - u lil bleeder! im doin all the graftin here!

the ofna 2 speed has the spurs well offset from each other tho, granted they are skinny spurs, so it looks worse... and i am unsure of the arrangement of the ofna 2 speed pinions - are they a single piece? both threaded? if so how much adjustment? will they fit the m12 thread on the cen bell? etc etc etc - but dont worry - i will find out for yer!

just got in from a session with the truck. found 3 savages to play with...

the 11t pinion did its other trick of splitting and flying off after 30 secs running. looked for a m10 pinion in the spares and could only find a 15t, ah well what the hell, give it a go...

oh man, the clutch is a bit happier with a different bell and no plastic crap in there! a savage 3 speed has no hope at all against it, unsure of the engine he was running tho. one savage had the standard 21 in there, erm no, not a chance either. but there was a 2 speed that sounded meaty and held its own up to about 30mph, then i pulled away from it to about 40mph tops.

i had to set the tx throttle clicky trim thing to the neutral position as the brakes were getting weak, and ive run out of adjustment on the linkage... doh this meant that i only had up to 3/4 throttle! wheelies are most definately on command now!

now a bit later as the other guys packed up and loaded there cars, i suddenly had a runaway. no warning or anything, it just hit full throttle (ok 3/4) and off it went about 75 yards away, up a little ramp in the gravel, around 6 feet high and straight into a wooden advertising board, roof side first. dunno the speed, but the tyres were well ballooned and its the first time i have seen that happen with these. what happened to ur failsafe u cry? im asking the same question... the savage guys just drove off and left me to pick the bits up.

i am now a member of the Snapped Shock Tower and Dented Head Society... many other bits damaged, pipe is a write off etc, i dont wanna look any further for a day or 2... or 3... doh just looked, sand in the carb, and the filter came off, and yes the engine was running when it landed. shell was on tho...

think that pretty much wraps this thread up! i aint gonna be lookin at it for a while.

I have had one instance where mine has run away after a little knocking around and the failsafe did not stop it. Come to find out it jarred a battery loose (I have not switched to a hump pack yet) and effectively disabled my failsafe. The throttle just stuck open until the truck climbed the base of a tree and stopped. Luckily mine caused no damage.

Snapped shock tower was the JT one right? Man that is bad news. Hope the .28 is ok, sand in the carb isn't funny! Get in there and flush it through mate, no matter how much you want to say screw it, to leave it to rot now would be a real shame.

i know what u r saying... but i aint listenin now man!

lol, gutted or what...

it looks a right mess, but i think its not as bad as i first thought. diffs are ok, chassis looks pretty straight, front tower is bent a bit, cooling head got the worst of it, shell is erm, a basher shell for sure, shocks look ok - and hey - the driveshafts are ok!! suspect both tanks are dead tho - they went about 30 yards, curiously still joined together! pipe is a gonna too. but the big one is the motor... will rip it down and take a look one day. i can only see sand in the initial opening, shone a torch down the throat but cant see anything in there.

tell u what tho, running 3 savages and my lil beasty outside a pub gets a big crowd, well, 40-50 people, and hearin them say "look at that gold one go!" is a pretty satisfying feeling. hearing them go "AWWWWW!!! that looks expensive!!!" feels like ****

All in all it doesn't look to bad. If the engine is ok put the thing back together and have some more fun. The pipe doesn't even look as bad as you made it sound. You can put that in the freezer full of water and capped off and alot of the dents will come out.
You can also use the stock shock tower.

Try using a throttle return spring as well as a fail safe. It will kind of act as a backup to the fail safe.
