Ha! my engine arrived! cant stop giggling...

I read about another funfactor with this engine in - sounded quite good fun, if somewhat unreliable... gonna get some heavy duty bits together and see how it goes.

There is a vid in the vids section of a pirate 10 with this engine fitted, after i stopped laughing, i ordered one.

I was going to pick one of those up for my X-Factor and put the .247 in the MT2 and I was concerned about parts breaking in MT2 knowing how the .247 motivates the X-factor.
At least we will get to find out how tough the rear differential is.

Of course we will need pictures and videos if possible.

i will see what i can do rolland. yea the rear end is my main concern, i do have hardened diff gears all round, so we will see... its the driveshafts that worry me most, but i have a plan for those!

gonna be a little while tho before its up and running - waiting on some mounts and clutch bell bits.

take a look at the ".28 pirate 10" vid in the vids section, thatll give u an idea of the stupidity of fitting this thing

hmm, my rally body fits over the engine much better than the truck body... .28 rally perhaps? i could gear that up to make some silly speed machine - was impressive with the 18...

What about taking the metal dirve shafts and parts to your local gunsmith and having them surface hardened that should help with the twisting. If one is not avialable try Brownells http://www.brownells.com/Default.aspx for the chemicals.

i thought about getting the blow torch on them, but on the last breakage it was clear that there was an inclusion in the material used that caused the break, they just need to be beefier, what with the tmaxx wheels on.

You're nuts!!! That is going to be sooo fast. I think a failsafe might be in order! Can't wait to see the vids. What are you going to do about the manifold?

Antwar made that manifold by using a Savage header and the CEN header cut and spliced together. I you don't want to do that here are some links for the TC3 ones,

yea i was going to go for the savage/cen manifold. im not keen on the tc3 ones, they look funny . hopefully i will have some mounts coming my way very shortly, so i will see then how it all fits before i start cutting anything up.

thanks again tho rolland!

dkf1979 - u should see my truck cowering in the corner, that damn .28 keeps peeking out of its box and shouting "Boo!" at it. very inhumane...

This pipe uses a regular muffler
http://www.dynamiterc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=DYN6624

What I would do is run the pipe with some sort of exhaust deflector out the back over the shock tower (wouldn't look good but will work) and get a Tiger Drive and mount it so you could start the truck from the side. Unless you can get that .21 size pipe to fit along side of the truck without it hitting the front tire. That motor is going to be rather restricted with a smaller pipe.

gonna see how the os pipe works out, and see what breaks with that fitted... if its all good, then i will see about the 21 pipe. not keen on putting it over and out the back, due to the wheelies etc. but thats all i can do if it wont go down the side.

im going to use quite tall gears, unsurprisingly i guess, to try to keep he fronts down, and hit some silly speeds on the beach.
