ballistic

That's an interesting stripe design. I like the color choice. reminds me of the kawaski 1100 ZXI (thats a jetski) that came in gun metel gray. I'm slowly getting pics around for this website. I've been pretty busy these days and I'm at work at night and on top of that, It's cold and raining outside and I'm sury your all aware of the amount of room it takes to assemble this model for a full photo.

Hughes Just for that my Canopy is going to look 10 times better then yours... I used a Testors Paint Pen to draw in the glass break lines. Now I am going to spray Paint it black. Should look Sleek on the body with the black in front of it. Plus the glass break lines will be straight... I will post some pictures tomorrow when it is done.

I noticed that the plane wing was covered in white. so is the whole thing covered white and then you painted the entire wing with Paint? How does that work? I would think that it would be tough to get that smooth??? Give us some more detail would ya. Thanks.

Here's a picture of a picture. A little blurry but I think it's all right and I don't have to go out into the rain.

Thanks
I wanted something different and I let my daughter pick out the colors and the barbi thats in the cockpit. Yes, everyone asks why I chose a barbi but I can't help it. "I like women".

Alrighty.... Here are some pics of stuff I did today.

First is the motor I purchased from a member on the board, Looks a bit rough. The muffler shown is out in a bath currently. He sent a second standard Muffler that you see on it when we are testing it out. The engine tested out good just needs some tuning and a cleaning beyond belief. Thanks to Chris and Doug for freezing there arsses off today and helping me get it started and lending me the engine stand.

Next is the Canopy I took a silver Testor Paint Pen and traced the lines in the canopy. I then used painters tape to mask off the clear portion. I will finish it off by putting a white primer behind the yellow then painting the masked portion black.

Last is the beginning coats of Ultra Bright Yellow going on the Cowl and Belly Pan. I may still paint the belly pan Black I have not decided on that part of the scheme however I figured it could not hurt to start there.

I like it Jim, woman are good

Ballistic, coming along real nice! Can't wait to see it all finished. No tricks on my painting, just a good product. The fuse was covered in Cub Yellow Ultracote, then taped, trimmed, edged and feathered with red ultracote paint. The wing was covered in true red Ultracote and then taped trimmed, edged and feathered in cub yellow Ultracote paint. First time for me using paint, I like it, easy to mess up though
I should be all done in a week ot two

Excuse me for intruding on your thread but I thought that you might like to see a matched pair of the first generation kits built identical to the last nut and bolt.
These planes were built in 1996 for the purpose of flying team aerobatics.
They are covered in Monocote and are powered by Saito 150s.
The color schemes are reversed and the pilots are different but otherwise they are a totally matched pair.
I flew 01 yesterday and it flys as well as it did on the first flight in the summer of 96.
My flying partner died unexpectedly in December of 1997 so we never got to fully develop our aerobatic routine to show quality performances, but what we did do was great fun.
I will post some higher resoultion shot on my gallery page.
Thanks for looking.

Very nice thanks for sharing!
Did you manage to get any of your formation flying on video?

Steve

Unfortunately the videographer was my flying partner. We chose the Sukhoi because they were kind of draggy which made it easier to hold formation without sling shoting back and forth. Also they are quite neutral in inverted flight which made the upright to inverted passes easy to perform.
