Model Boat Mayhem -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (6/20/2005 9:59 PM)

Is this the greatest boat ever?!?!?! [:D][:-][:D][:-]

exeter_acres -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (6/20/2005 10:09 PM)

Just found my new next plane....!!!

I LOVE IT

Just needs wheels so it can be a land, sea, air vehicle![:D]

Never mind!! I see it DOES have wheels!!

Even my wife says I need one, so it must be good!

NZ Scythe -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (6/21/2005 6:43 AM)

Awsome! Want plans...

kennydee -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (6/22/2005 12:56 PM)

Saw the video, it's a boat, it's a plane, it's a car, Hell, I don't know what that thing is, but I want one.

Maudib -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (6/22/2005 1:19 PM)

Bad thing is... there's no real date set as to when they'll be available... ton's of threads on this cool creation, but MC won't give any estimates as to when they'll be available.

He should get with GP or Horizon to get this thing made.... they'd jump at this design.

RCadmin -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (6/22/2005 1:42 PM)

I am sure there are several companies now working to "clone" this design and you will likely see something being sold quite soon. I think they are all scrambling. If he wanted to sell them he should have probably had them ready to go before "unveiling" this very cool idea. The copycats are in motion I can tell you.

JohnVH -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (6/22/2005 4:24 PM)

They are already available..

Wow, that is big! Thanks for the link.

jgallone1801 -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (6/27/2005 8:59 PM)

Greg, can't wait to read your review of the Hydro Foam (I've liked your other reviews). I may wait for the "official" kit from Michael Connally, but I'm still interested to see how this kit performs.

Glacier Girl -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (6/28/2005 1:34 AM)

Too Cool, just think what it will be like with snow!!!!

Greg Covey -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (6/28/2005 1:12 PM)

Spoken like a true Northerner! :)

Actually, I was also thinking that if it can scrape along pavement, it should work over firm snow. This means I can fly it all year long.

I can see modifications coming as well like adding some horizontal side fins for beginners. I expect that it may be a bit twitchy in the air. The pilot in the video likely has good 3D skills.

aflipz -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (7/31/2005 7:20 AM)

twitchy or not i'll just have to refine my technique, inded snow should not be an obstacle for this vehicle, it weighs 14oz rtf and has a lot of pontoon surface, i'm confident it will glide over 3% powder if you should ever encounter such elusive conditions.

For a guy like me learning th fly this thing over 6 feet of powder snow is just the ticket to avoid the repair bench... I MUST HAVE ONE!!! i won't sleep right until i have flown it.

Now for a full scale version capable of doing this for real, preferably able to fit on a public road ;) Immagine, escape from your crowded city by driving one of these to a large parking lot or field and take off! then land in a lake, or a road, or a field... whatever floats your hydroplane!

flyingace451 -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (8/2/2005 2:22 AM)

Do you think that they will have an RTF package? WHY DO I HAVE TO BE 15??? WHY CAN'T I HAVE A JOB SO THAT I CAN HAVE MY FIRST ARF!!!???!!![:D][:D][:D]

c/f -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (8/9/2005 3:06 AM)

Ive been flying the MISS HANGAR ONE, for a month now, heres my video taken with less than 2 hours flighttime:

http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=miss-hangar-one-10mb-tide

JUST awsome perfect in all diciplines.

WATER, GRASS, Hard surface, 3D manuvers, knifeedge, point rolls , inverted with absolutely no pitch change, Mine weighs 8 ounces with 20 ounces of advertised thrust from a littlescreamer 20 gram single stator, @ 124watts.........

I did a complete build expos'e in a rc related groups under foamies.......

Just search out MISS HANGAR ONE

snooptalian -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (8/11/2005 5:12 PM)

Who else has bought one of the Miss Hangar One kits? Are the kits good quality? Do they have to covered at all, or just painted?

dean chandler -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (8/15/2005 1:36 AM)

Planebeach, I would would sure like to build one of these Hydro-Foam planes. Can you tell me where I can find/purchase blueprints for one. Dean C.

snooptalian -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (8/18/2005 5:34 PM)

I emailed Red about his kit availability, along with the Purple **** motor. Hopefully I'll hear back soon, though I'm sure there is a huge backlog of orders for these kits and the motors...At least they are better than that junk that is popping up on eBay lately, worth waiting for I'm sure...

jooNorway -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (8/18/2005 8:34 PM)

I`m nearly done with my "Lobster", a Norwegian designed flying hydro. Hope to testfly tomorrow. A friend of mine have flown his several times, works good! Good kit, depron and easy to assemble. Double sets of rudders and elevons, and it flies well on an AXI2204/54. Mine will get a MotorMax300XT. I just have to search all my boxes on the hobbyroom to find servoes... [8|]

spud00uk -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (8/22/2005 2:15 PM)

hi so can anyone post a website where i can buy one from?

Greg Covey -> RE: Hydro-Foam by Michael Connally (10/2/2005 1:27 PM)

Meet the Kokam-powered flying Miss Hangar One boat. It is the first in a series of flying boats that we are building from the kit. We were amazed at just how well this aquatic oddity actually flew! This FMA theme racing boat was built by Paul Weigand and hovered by Devin McGrath. The foam was spray painted using Tamiya acrylic paint.

Here is the setup:

  • AXI 2208/34
  • Jeti 8-amp Advance PLUS ESC
  • Kokam 3-cell 1250mAh pack
  • APC 9x6 SF prop
  • Hitec HS-55 servos
