I recently purchased a pre-built, flown Great Planes F4U Corsair powered by a Saito 65 with a Futaba Skysport 6 channel radio. Hey, this is one easy to fly airplane; nothing hard about it. She may not be scale, but she looks like a Corsair and flies easy as a trainer!
This plane was built from a kit, but she's my kind of ARF. Try one, you'll like it. A scale Warbird officiando could easily make this kit more to their scale liking. Good luck!

I have one too, Flak, and with the Magnum .80 4-stroke, it really screams. They're nice birds.

I have one also powered with a Y.S. .63. A perfect combination!

I have one to Flak but I build mine from the kit. Yes it does fly easy but if you want scale it might not land or take off that easy, these are definitely not scale, especially the air foil.

These Corsairs are available ONLY as a kit. Landings were difficult until I bent the main gear forward 3/4". Now she doesn't nose over.

Try landing with a little more power, this will assist you landing.
Top Flight has a nice 60 size kit that they just re-vamped.
Hanger-9 has a ARF and so do a few other companies but the other companies Corsair just don't look right, flying may not be right either.
For example, Lanier put's out a Phantom that does not fly right. My friend has one and the elevator is just way to big and awkward, the incidence is off and so on.
When we get good companies we should support them and stay away from the junk. I have a Phantom kit from Great lanes and it flies like a dream, it is put together right, the kit was excellent and it is more scale than not.

Lytehouse,
I agree, we should stay away from junk, which is why I don't have much faith in ARF's. They are mass produced, white glued, and not reinforced where they should be. There may be a few exceptions, but not many. My F4U was built from a kit.

I have one of those GP Corsair Kit's but I build it and it flies sweet. I just put a Thunder Tiger .46 on it and it has all the power it need's, for any dogfight with a zeke.
That is another thing that freaked me out about that spit kit ARF, there was no white glue or hot glue and everything is solid and light. I put a FS 70 Surpass 4 stroke and this plane haul's a**. My friend and I have put it through all the motions, he can do more than me and it is holding up nicely, no gluing needed yet.
I flew it again today, about 3 tanks of fuel in the first 20 minutes, still solid.

On towerhobbies.com i saw that the Great Planes Corsair F4U is not designed for using retracts. Is it possible to use them? If yes, which ones?
